Qantas Delays/Cancellations

On Wednesday 30 September, QF59 (A333 VH-QPJ), the 1115 hours SYD-HND did not take off until 1433 mid afternoon. It should arrive at its Japanese gate at 2243, 153 minutes late. The scheduled 2200 hours redeye QF60 is forecast to push back at 0010 on Thursday 1 October.

Sister -QPF has today operated QF29, the 1015 hours midmorning MEL-HKG not airborne until 1244. Estimated gate arrival at 1957 will be 122 minutes late. Yesterday this flight did not arrive Hong Kong until 2029 hours.

Social media suggests not only a medical diversion to HNL but an overweight landing requiring mandatory checks causing time to run out.
Overweight landing possible as 5.5 hours fuel burn maybe 60-70 tons and difference between max takeoff and max landing around 190 tons.
Would depend on actual take off weight.....

Expect delays at MEL today due to poor weather today

QF 79 to NRT is delayed from 0935 to around 1100 departure- left gate as I wrote this at 1055 - this is due to QF30 late arrival from HKG - arriving at 0751 instead of 0720
