Qantas Delays/Cancellations

Something going on with QF9/10, still at Heathrow should have left hours ago

This aircraft appears to be B789 VH-ZNG that has been rescheduled to 1700 hours on Saturday 20 June after an unscheduled overnight stay. It had arrived in LHR at 0622 hours on Friday 19, 77 minutes late.

UPDATE: As QF10D, ZNG took off from LHR at 1823 on Saturday 20 June with PER gate arrival likely at about 1743 hours on Sunday 21 (1943 AEST).

On Wednesday 24 June 2026, QF11, the 1750 hours SYD-LAX is not departing until an expected 2100 hours mid-evening due to additional maintenance being required on the operating A380.

B789 VH-ZNC on Tuesday 23's QF255, the 1400 hours SYD-SIN-CDG did not take off from Sydney until 1856 hours, arriving SIN at 0046 this morning (24) before becoming airborne at 0304 hours. Parisian arrival at gate should be about 1009 hours, 249 minutes late. QF256 is a tad optimistically expected to depart at 1215 hours, 190 minutes late. Going on recent '256' flights, it may pick up a bit of the deficit en route to SIN, so "perhaps" SYD gate arrival tomorrow may be at about 1830 hours if all goes well, which would be 150 minutes late although that assumes it gets away from Paris' gate bang on 1215 hours.

As noted above, yesterday (23), B789 VH-ZNA as QF10 from LHR down to PER called in at KTA for a fuel top-up, so in consequence, QF219, the scheduled 1400 hours PER-SIN-LHR took off at 1632 hours. LHR gate arrival looks to be 0612 hours on Wednesday 24, 67 late.

A333 VH-QPL as QF81, the 1020 hours 24 June SYD-SIN took off at 1119 hours so gate arrival in the Lion City should be about 1736, 41 late.

QF65 (on 23 June, A332 VH-EBN) arrived JNB at 2242 hours, 157 minutes late before becoming QF66, the 2230 hours JNB-PER airborne at 0041 this morning. Gate arrival should be approximately 1511 hours, 46 late.

QF59, the 1115 hours SYD up to HND in Japan today has A333 VH-QPF. It was in the sky at 1242 hours so gate arrival looks to be 2106 hours, 56 minutes behind schedule.

Tuesday 23 June's QF28 from SCL to SYD, the 1310 hours (B789 VH-ZNE) took off at 1506 so on Wednesday 24 gate arrival becomes an estimated 1921 hours, 101 minutes late.

QF21, the 1335 hours today from MEL up and across on the long trip to DFW is expected to depart this evening at 2030 hours, 415 minutes late. Operating aircraft B789 VH-ZNG is in Sydney but forecast to depart at 1715 hours as empty QF6013 down to MEL. On Monday 22, this aircraft had operated from PER to SYD (also empty) as QF6007, so perhaps it needed repairs.

In turn, this may delay the Wednesday 24 DFW-MEL (QF22) but QFi's 'flight status' shows it as punctual. Sometimes this may not update until an aircraft has departed on its previous flight (i.e. in this case, QF21).

UPDATE; 'Ferry' flight QF6013 from SYD to MEL is predicted to shortly depart at 1800 hours, but as at 1751, it doesn't appear on the FR24 map. There is no way QF21 will be pushing back at 2030 tonight. Some time from 2115 may be a better guess.

To further update, QF6013 (B789 VH-ZNG) took off on Wednesday 24 June from SYD at 1819 hours with MEL gate arrival likely at around the 1934 hours mark, to (as noted above) form a very late QF21 from MEL to DFW.

My prediction two posts ago was close to accurate, as on 24 June, B789 VH-ZNG as QF21 from MEL to DFW took off at 2117 hours. Gate arrival is forecast as 2147 hours same day, 422 minutes late.
