Qantas Delays/Cancellations

What day?
Thank you for asking - you might imagine I’m a little wary posting that specific info since the QF breach and hackers have all my details don’t really want to put much more more out there…..

I was asking more generally if it was multiple flights so a quick look at two or three would answer it generally….

For what it might be worth, I was on QF1 last week (split over two days with an overnight in SIN), before the latest disruptions.

For both flights the seat map was unavailable and I couldn’t select a seat, even the QF agent on the phone couldn’t see it. ExperFlyer returned an unavailable error for the map for those flights.

I ended up being able to select a seat at online check in.

Tuesday’s QF82 leaving at 0115 Wed. Monday’s QF82 leaving 0900 Wed. Pax really should be offered other flights on other carriers if available.

The 'SMH'/'The Age' article above plus how it's the end of school holidays gives me the impression that there are few spare seats on competing carriers such as SQ even if QFi wanted to transfer some of its delayed patrons.

QF30 from HKG on 17/07 took off 2 hrs late at 2205 instead of 2005 and arrived into Melbourne at 0843 on 18/07 instead of 0725 on QPG - this was despite a minor delay in arrival to HKG only 20 mins behind schedule as 127 from SYD

Quite a few airlines using HAS were impacted by the weather last evening and had similar delays.

Thanks for the weather alert - didn't know there was a significant weather issue as well - and you are correct, the QPB to SYD on 128 is delayed to today

Another A330 delay with VH-QPD on Thursday 17 July taking off from SYD at 2312 hours as QF522 to BNE, so almost got caught out by the Sydney curfew. It arrived BNE on Friday 18 at 0028 (73 late) and then in the morning operated an empty QF6005 from BNE back down to SYD, with this proposed 0700 hours flight taking off at 0836 for gate arrival at 0953 hours.

It was then rostered to form what could never be a punctual QF127, the 1020 hours SYD-HKG that was airborne at 1201 with gate arrival forecast for 1908 tonight, 68 late.

'The 59' from MEL to Japan's NRT has sister aircraft -QPE with this 1105 hours timetabled departure taking off at 1315 this afternoon: gate arrival is likely at about 2140 hours, 90 late.

A332 VH-EBM on QF67, the 0905 hours morning SYD-BLR was not pointing skywards until 1205 hours, so the suggested 1905 hours arrival will be 150 minutes behind the timetable.

QF7, the 1025 hours B789 from SYD up and across to DFW was cancelled today.

On Saturday 19 July 2025, die to a tropical storm in part of Philippines, QF19 (1225 hours SYD-MNL) has been cancelled. However PR flights from MEL and SYD are operating.

QF81, the 1020 hours morning SYD-SIN was meant to have A333 VH-QPD but it too has been cancelled.

A332 VH-EBB on QF35, the 1206 hours MEL-SIN took off at 1251 with suggested gate arrival 34 late at 1849 in the early evening.

The A332 on QF37 (scheduled 1555 hours MEL-SIN) is not expected to depart until 2025 mid evening.

B789 VH-ZNA on the second leg of QF34 should arrive SYD at 1703 hours, 37 minutes tardy.

This storm is heading towards HKG - be ready for cancellations at short notice!

Today’s QF34 is still on the ground in Paris 40 minutes after departure time, fully boarded, no explanation given other than being advised by the captain we might be here for another hour or so.

Sometimes Hungary restricts the amount of air traffic over their country. I spent two hours at LHR last year waiting to go.

QF128 on 19/07 took off late at 2244 instead of 1930- ETA is 0928 - 2 hrs late

QF 30 took off almost 2 hrs late at 2157 instead of 2005 and now arrive at 0841 - over 1 hr late from 0725

ALSO QF128 on 18/07 - it’s still stuck in HKG - QPB - someone on threads are saying it’s technical issue!!

On Tuesday 22 July 2025, QF29, the scheduled 1020 hours MEL to HKG (A333 VH_QPC) is expected to depart 200 minutes late at 1340 this afternoon. The plane arrived from HKG as QF128 into SYD this morning 90 minutes late at 0753 hours. It is operating empty down to MEL, having taken off from Sydney at 1040 instead of the nominally timetabled 0905 hours poushback, so won't be arriving in MEL until about 1230 hours.

A 70 minute turnaround in Melbourne is extremely optimistic. Closer to two hours might be a better estimate.

Sister -QPB is on QF127, the also 1020 hours to HKG but from SYD: this was airborne at 1125 hours with gate arrival likely at around 1832 (32 late) early this evening.

QF80, operated by -QPJ arrived MEL (ex NRT) at 0833 hours this morning, 48 late.

A388 VH-OQL has had its share of delayed flights lately, with Tuesday 22 no exception as QF81, the 1020 hours SYD-SIN is forecast to push back at 1155 hours.

Well the weather in Melbourne is very poor now - hope it won’t impact as much as expected…

Also QF2079 Mildura to Melbourne had to return due to mechanical emergencies!!
