Currently on board QF2 diverted to Baku. Medical emergency followed by engine fault with no licensed engineer in Baku. Looking at 24-30hr delay while they fly out an engineer (and presumably replacement crew).
I wish the passenger a very speedy recovery... this is of course not wanted event and no one would want that to happen to their familyABC reporting a passenger had a major cardiac event.

Closer than Dubai, and better than traversing Afghanistan and Pakistan to get to New Delhi. If you’re there for 24 hours then the crew will get adequate rest. Of course the QF app has you underway already?! But looks like an 8:50 dept Tuesday for a 13:10 arrival Sydney on Wednesday. We were about an hour and a half past Baku and turned around. I’m guessing Iranian airspace restrictions prevented a more sensible divert to DXB
A replacement plane from London?? Not sure how that would work. I was on the 2 a few years ago and an old bloke in premium went to the toilet and basically died in there. But we were bound for New Delhi. They tried for 30 minutes but couldn’t get him back. They strapped him onto to the bench seat in the J lounge. When we got to Singapore it was like a CSI investigation. Eventually for us lucky enough to be first we were let off. Then everyone else about 30 minutes later. But they interviewed the crew and pax around him for about 90 minutes.ABC reporting a passenger had a major cardiac event.

The QF139 was late because the inbound from CHC went to CBR due to storms at Sydney which incidentally stopped the NRL game for 25 minutes at Accor Stadium. That’s why they used the plane from Nadi.On Saturday 14 June, PR97, the early evening 1915 hours BNE-MNL (A332 VH_EBJ) did not take off until 2315 hours. As a result, arrival at gate was at 0438, 213 minutes tardy.
The return flight, QF98, arrived back in BNE on Sunday 15 at 1540, 205 late. The aircraft then formed QF53, the 1515 hours BNE to SIN up up and away at 1723 with expected arrival tonight Singapore time of 2330 hours, 115 minutes behind schedule. QF54, the 2310 hours back down to BNE is forecast to depart 70 late at 0020 on Monday morning, 16 June.
A388 VH-OQI on the Sunday 15 flagship QF1 (the 1450 hours) did not become airborne until 1739 so SIN gate arrival should be at 2326 late tonight local time, 131 late. This will delay the second sector, the 2325 hours scheduled SIN up to LHR.
QF139, the evening 1855 hours SYD across to CHC doesn't have a stellar timekeeping record. B738 VH-XZM took off at 2111 hours so arrival on Monday 16 should be about 0150 hours, 111 late. Another B738 must have failed because this one arrived SYD tonight as QF102 from Fiji's NAN, due in at its gate at 1825 but pulling in at 1933 hours, 68 late.
A333 VH-QPE on QF59 (1105 hours SYD-HND) should arrive at its Japanese destination at about 2129, 79 late, tonight.
