Qf 36 delayed by about 10 hours
It looks like EBJ, the aircraft that was originally supposed to operate QF51, has become unserviceable. They've sequestered the aircraft (EBP) that I presume was originally meant to operate QF15 to operate a very delayed QF51 (running 12 hours late), which has also resulted in QF36 being delayed by 10 hours.

Does anyone know why QF7 was diverted to LAX today? Have an elderly relative on that flight and havent been able to contact them. Thanks in advance.

possibly a tech issue. Diverted to LAX, and doesn't appear to have continued to DFW.
It looks like the aircraft sat at LAX for a day and is currently on the way back as QF96

QF52 SIN 2 PER delayed to 0430am.

However, they are currently one airframe short in Singapore as QF35 MEL 2 SIN was cancelled earlier today. QF36 SIN to MEL is going back with VH-EBB (flew in as QF51 from BNE) while QF52 SIN to BNE going back with VH-EBA (flew in as QF71 from PER). So, they are currently an A330 short which now needs to come from somewhere.

Qantas seems to currently ferry over VH-EBK as QF331 with expected landing in the Lion City by 0251am local time. They might use this frame to go back to Perth (expensive exercise given they cancelled QF35 which is a normal revenue flight unless QF331 is a full charter flight). That would mean that they probably need to retime the Perth flight to more like 5am Singapura time. Other option is that they use the QF37 frame that is coming in around midnight (VH-EBL) but that would mean that QF38 is pushed back until VH-EBK is here - choices choices choices.

Good luck in any case - this will be a long night for pax.

Re: QF30, there's more than just that.

QF30 on 09/02/24 was cancelled, after a brief taxi, returned to gate.
VH-QPH
The A330 has been sitting in HKG for a couple of days now.
The QF30 10/02/24 (delayed 22 hrs) and the QF30 11/02/24 will be taking off very close apart, unless QF merges them into 1 flight.

So, who know what's wrong with VH-QPH, but if exLXCXFF is correct above then that's another A330 out of service. The A330 QF fleet is approaching 20 years old. The CX A350 fleet is much younger, so I wonder who would fly QF for this anyway.

Ultimately operated by VH-EBK and arrived in MEL with a 9 hours delay.

VH-QPG is currently operating MEL to HKG and almost on time.

QF180 from Norfolk ISland delayed and currently scheduled 6.45pm. Previous flight QF179 diverted to Auckland. Pity no lounge, although we were offered biscuits and water.

Looks like weather causing some havoc in MEL.
QF1519 from CBR-MEL is doing some interesting sightseeing 🤣
Given my friends seeing golf ball size hail coming down in the thunderstorm, not surprised.

15/2 - QF1006 HBA to MEL with scheduled departure of 6:00 departed Hobart at 9:35
QF1011 MEL to HBA with scheduled departure of 08:15 is now scheduled for 10:35 departure.
QF1012 HBA to MEL with scheduled departure of 10:10 is now scheduled for 12:30 departure.

QF1006 was not a full flight and those on QF1012 could be moved to this "earlier" flight if they asked.
Food vouchers were being given out to those affected by the delays.

Allegedly the delay of QF1006 was caused by a dent in the aircraft that had to be inspected by an engineer.

I had my first flight cancellation yesterday after 120 QF flights over the past two years. A lucky streak based on others experiences. QF2019 SYD-ARM cancelled, notified by text which included details of hotel and allowance.

Not for me but for the partner

QF472 MEL-SYD 1715 flight cancelled, to be expected....

Replaced with QF1580 - QantasLink on a 717..............

QF35 was cancelled Thursday, was late yesterday and is running some hours late today after QF6038 just flew from SYD to operate it.

QF37 was cancelled yesterday and on Thursday was operated by a A388

18FEB QF857 CBR-PER - delayed to 2030 (original time 2005) due to late arrival of inbound crew. Probably crew inbound from SYD (delays due to storm and ground stop @ SYD)

QF79/80 has been embarrassing lately.

Culminated in QF80 being delayed overnight last night as it had no chance to make curfew ex-NRT.

I was on QF79 on Friday, the whole process appeared a shambles. It's astounding to me how wrong Qantas can get it at a "home" port.

Finished work at 7am, to airport to check in and then the dreaded dungeon, which I quickly vacated. Did lap after lap of the terminal until boarding. Better than falling asleep and missing the flight. Someone may have to correct me but it appeared that the Delhi flight was ready for boarding before Tokyo, so all the gate staff seemed to disappear for a while (to board that?). Whether this contributed to our delay I do not know. It was also quite a lengthy taxi until take off. All in all it was an inconvenience and nothing more, but still. Qantas clearly cannot make that schedule work with the one airframe shuttling back and forth.

I will say the service on board was truly excellent and positive feedback will definitely be sent on my return.

QF 29 MEL to HKG today on VH-EBV (A332) took off at 1427 instead of 1140, now scheduled to arrive at 2015 - this plane did arrive from BNE as non revenue service the night before, hence not sure why this severe delay today
