Qantas Delays/Cancellations

Approx 1 hour delayed departure for QF1546 the 0610 LST -MEL this morning; 5 or 6 pax including some with checked bags were moved by QF to the 0630 VA flight which departed on time

Due to leave CBR-MEL on QF1525 at 1735, delayed now to 1830. Here's hoping no further delays

Friday: today's QF27 SYD-SCL is delayed 5 minutes shy of two hours for a 14:30 AEDT Sydney departure, with same delay into Santiago as 13:00 CLST. With an eastwards Flight path it could be expected to make up time, however the currently posted delay means the return QF28 will be unlikely to depart at the scheduled 13:40 CLST.

Once again today's QF63 SYD-JNB (B789 VH-ZNA) was late departing Sydney (39 minutes this morning), however as has happened with all recent QF63 flights (despite the westwards flight path) it is expected to arrive in Jo'burg around 30 minutes late. There is enough time in the JNB layover, for the return QF64 to be on time back into Sydney.

So 2hr late departing but tracking to make up 1/2hr en route to PER.

If delay stays at roughly that level, should t impact turn around of aircraft for QF10.

QF8 is going via AKL to change crew due to a 3 hour departure delay.

Next flight for the aircraft is QF27 so there is could be a delay imposed on that flight tomorrow.

QF28 was in fact 68 minutes late, departing Santiago at 14:48 CLST, resulting in VH-ZNH being 49 minutes late into Sydney at 18:49 AEDT.

As to the return QF64 departure from Jo'Burg, this was in fact delayed 112 minutes, resulting in the flight being 106 minutes late into Sydney. The flow on for VH-ZNA saw this (Saturday) afternoon's QF7 SYD-DFW delayed by 85 minutes with an expected arrival in Dallas 37 minutes late. With the layover time in Dallas there shouldn't be a further flow on.

Does anyone know what is happening with Qantas Brisbane to Sydney today?
They cancelled my wife's flight and she would have risked missing her international flight. There was simply no other flights available for her, even as Platinum, so she's had to buy a Virgin flight. All sorted now, but just curious

QF127/128 SYD/HKG on the A388s on a run of delays

From Sunday to Wednesday both running at ~2 hours late, including a change of aircraft on Tuesday, so a potential make up opportunity missed.

Todays 127 is looking at about 4 hours late out of SYD which is going to flow on to 128 tonight. Will depend on which aircraft scheduled tomorrow as to whether it keeps flowing on to the 127

I would like to know why this route is having so heavy delay lately... this is not usual pre A380 days since January this year..

Also QF 51/52 on VH-EBR has been delayed both on 05/04/2023 and today on 06/04/2023. Further details are yet to be checked.

Check out QF51 again today!!
The original post is about today's QF51.

However the same aircraft was operating yesterday's QF51 and it was delayed by 9:45hrs. The return QF52 turned around without delay (but departure was delayed by 6:54hrs due to the late arrival).

2 delays in consecutive days on the same aircraft suggest something at issue with the aircraft?

Note also that sometimes the aircraft operating QF51 turns around to operate QF82. And QF81 then operated QF52

When did they pax the replacement crew over?

Also same question if you would mind for QF8 diversion to AKL today 6/4/23 which looked like an unplanned. So maybe the answer is this morning which caused departure from AKL to be mid afternoon...
