Although this afternoon (Thursday 23 July's) QF5 from SYD to SIN is running 15 minutes early, the return QF6 (timetabled ex SIN at 2350) has been delayed until 0615 tomorrow morning (Friday 24 July) with arrival in SYD expected at 1610 instead of 0945. The QF website is not yet showing that any international flights on Friday from SYD are delayed due to this late arrival, so perhaps QF will substitute one of the internationally configured A332s for one flight if there is no spare A333 in SYD.
An 0615 departure means a very early start from any hotel that QF puts delayed passengers up in, especially since some may arrive at SIN at 2100 or so tonight unaware that the flight was to be delayed. Hard for AFF contributors to believe, but not every passenger has a smartphone or other device with them to receive a message from QF. Passengers then have to be transported to an hotel assuming that they are not left to their own devices. At least Changi has some recliner chairs and is carpeted! It's not the world's best airport for no reason.
