Continuing with Friday 12 April, QF19 (A333 VH-QPH) pushed back in SYD at 1502 hours, 172 minutes tardy and then took off at 1518. MNL arrival should be 2047, 137 late. QF20 has become a 2205 hours estimated departure (125 late) for Saturday 13 SYD arrival at 0820, 130 late. After arriving on QF42 in SYD at 0607, two minutes late this morning (ex CGK), this plane made a switch trip to Melbourne and back on QF417/QF426, the latter being scheduled to arrive back in SYD (QFd) at 1225 hours. It did so at 1240, so forming a 1210 QFi departure was impossible to do punctually....

At 2042 Philippine time (2242 AEST), QF19 was only 97km from MNL but had at least 17 aircraft ahead of it in the queue, so it'll be further delayed as it's had to hold for quite a few minutes.

Gate numbers can change as airlines (including QF) react to flight delays but with QF19 not quite landing in MNL as at 2120 local time, QF20 will be badly delayed. At this stage the A333 is forming Saturday 13 April's QF23, the 0950 hours SYD - BKK so if that next duty remains for the A333, expect BKK-bound passengers tomorrow morning to be delayed by at least half an hour and probably longer in pushing back in SYD.

Unfortunately when QF flights run late to airfields like CGK and MNL, especially later in the week, delays can compound because nights like Friday in manila (just as in Oz) are extremely busy for air traffic. Tonight's QF19 had to hold twice, and for fairly lengthy periods.

UPDATE: QF19 should arrive MNL on Friday at about 2135, 185 minutes late. QF20 may be able to be off blocks at 2245 or 2250 if all goes well.

Continuing with Friday 12 April...The SYD - CGK QF41 was as recently as 1200 'high noon' today displaying as punctual but its 1345 hours timetabled departure became 1527. Arrival is estimated as 80 late at 2000 hours tonight, delaying QF42, the redeye back down to SYD. A333 VH-QPA is the aircraft..

QF41 arrived CGK at 1956 hours, 76 late.

Saturday 13 April 2019 has seen QF42 from CGK arrive in SYD at 0733 hours, 88 minutes late.

QF20 from MNL did not depart on Friday 12 until 2334 hours and took until 0029 on Saturday to take off, so SYD arrival was at 1025, 250 minutes late. This aircraft was changed from operating the 0950 hours SYD - BKK today (QF23) to the 1210 hours SYD - PEK (QF107).

Later on Saturday 13 Aoril, QF24 from BKK to SYD pushed back at 1837 (27 minutes late) with Sunday 14 arrival expected at 0704, 39 late.

QF19 arrived early in MNL tonight but QF20 has just been advised as delayed an hour to 2100 in its pushback.

On Sunday 14 April, QF29, the 0940 hours MEL - HKG departed 65 late but favourable winds mean an anticipated arrival at 1754, 34 late.

Earlier, QF20 arrived from MNL into SYD 78 late at 0728 following the forecast hour long delay shown above.

QF81 (1010 hours morning SYD up to SIN) was off blocks 32 late with at gate arrival predicted for 1733, 43 minutes tardy.

The 1210 hours lunchtime SYD - PEK (QF107) should depart 35 late.

QF1851, the 0925 hours from AYQ to ASP has B717 VH-NXP on Sunday 14 April took off at 1317 hours so arrival is predicted as 1358 hours, 228 late.

In more on 14 April, QF1584, the 1155 hours HBA up to SYD took off two hours later. B717 VH-YQT should arrive at 1535, 110 late.

B738 VH-VZV on QF881 (1200 'high noon' OOL - MEL) did not become airborne until 1343, so expected at gate arrival is 1545 hours, 85 behind schedule.

QF1014, the 1405 hours afternoon HBA up to MEL (B738 VH-VXP) was in the sky at 1440 so arrival is suggested as 1551 hours, 31 late.

QF43 and QF45 ex SYD and MEL respectively to DPS are both good runners: not generally unpunctual.

On Sunday 14 April 2019 however, the scheduled 1650 hours ex MEL has been altered to depart 135 late at 1905. DPS arrival is estimated at 2330 tonight local time, 140 late. This will see QF46 departing DPS at 0015 on Monday 15, two hours late with arrival back in MEL at 0805 smack bang in one of the peak hours, 125 late.

In more on 14 April 2019, B738 VH-XZJ on QF155 (1645 hours afternoon MEL - CHC) took off at 1750 so will be at least 40 minutes tardy arriving.

Saturday 13 April saw QF56, the 2215 hours LAX - BNE B789 depart only seven minutes late, but Monday 15 expected arrival is half an hour late at 0530 hours.

Monday 15 April 2019 finds QF80, the overnight from NRT, arriving in MEL 33 late at 0808 hours with A333 VH-QPE.

QF79 returning to NRT is expected to depart at 0940 with arrival at 1910, 35 late.

In further on 15 April 2019, QF127, the timetabled 1020 hours SYD - HKG did not depart until 1203 - quite unusual for this flight. With favourable winds, arrival should be at 1850 at gate, 50 late, so quite a lot of time picked up on a complete journey basis not just 'in the air.' Today is the fifth consecutive day B789 VH-ZNH has operated this flight: it arrived this morning on QF128 at 0744 hours, 49 late, but no obvious reason why it was so late departing. Maybe waiting on connecting passengers from rural NSW or the ACT?

QF766 (1805 hours ADL - SYD on Monday 15 April that was not in the sky until 1924) has B738 VH-VYB and is set for arrival at 2133 hours, 68 late.

Southbound SYD - MEL QF459 (1800 hours SYD down to MEL, the rare bonus of A333 VH-QPH) took off at 2014 so arrival is estimated as 117 late at 2132 mid evening. This aircraft had arrived in SYD on QF108 (ex PEK) at 1313 hours (early afternoon) on Sunday 14 then was unused until departing on QF565, the 0620 hours to PER this morning, returning on QF642, the 1025 ex PER (to SYD) not in the sky until 1240, accounting for tonight's delay.

Would QF have been using this A333 for flight crew training? Given that they're slightly better fitted out than the A332s and there's only 10 of the A333s, at face value it seems a 'waste' when they're not transferring over to (or from PER due to operating QF71/72 or similar flights to be used domestically.

As a result, QF653, the 2035 hours MEL across to PER is expected to depart at 2210 hours and arrive at 0025 hours on Tuesday 16 instead of 2245 tonight, so 100 minutes late.

Apologies for briefly digressing but I remember not so long ago flying on QF 767s between MEL and SYD (and AN widebodies 20 years ago...another story).

The 1915 hours SYD - HNL departed on 15 April at 1947. Same day arrival is predicted 39 minutes tardy at 0909 hours, so a slight delay to QF4 is likely. B744 VH-OEH is the aircraft.

QF568, the very late night 2355 hours redeye from PER to SYD tonight is expected to depart an hour late.

QF648, the 2350 hours PER - MEL redeye looks to have won the A333 (as above). QF is showing its pushback as delayed until 0045 but a 20 minute turnaround for an A333 is impossible. Sometimes the computer takes its time to update after an inbound flight sufferes delays.

Tuesday 16 April has QF94 from LAX to MEL arriving 31 minutes late at 0801 hours. QF12 to SYD is far worse as instead of pushing back in LAX at 2230 on Sunday 14, it did so at 0104 on Monday morning: hence, expected arrival is two hours late at 0830. 'The 16' is worst of all, with BNE arrival suggested as 0857, 172 late.

The latter two delays were due to QF12 from JFK to LAX not departing on Sunday night until 1942 (92 late) and then losing further time, arriving LAX at 2317 (137 late).

If the 1020 hours BNE - LAX (QF15) is formed today by QF16 as usual, there's a fair chance 'the 15' could be at least a little delayed in pushing back.

Monday 15's QF9 (PER to LHR nonstop) departed at 1900, only 15 late but Tuesday arrival is 0557, 52 late.

Also on 16 April 2019, QF79, the 0920 hours MEL - NRT took off at 0942 with suggested arrival half an hour late at 1905.

QF23 has not been too bad lately but today it pushed back in SYD 52 late at 1042. Forecast at gate BKK arrival is 1725, 45 late so tonight's QF24 back down to Sydney will be tardy.

The 0930 hours SYD to PVG, QF129 unusually departed 83 late at 1053 so it should be at its destination gate at roughly 1920 hours, 55 late. This will inhibit QF130.

QF97 (1010 hours BNE up to HKG) departed at 1100 so arrival is forecast for 1757 hours, 32 late.

The long flight QF63 pushed back in SYD at 1153, 58 late with arrival at 1744, 44 late likely, so like the others above, the return flight, in this case QF64 will be at least a little delayed in departing.

QF453, the 1700 hours SYD - MEL on Tuesday 16 April has been cancelled.

B738 VH-XZG on QF164, the 1455 hours mid afternoon WLG across to SYD took off at 1612 hours so arrival is predicted as 1712, 32 late.

B717 VH-NXG on I love to travel 's QF1549 (BNE down to CBR) looks to be 73 late with arrival at about 1733.

A388 VH-OQI on QF1, the Monday 15 April 2355 hours redeye from SIN to LHR departed bang on time but arrived LHR on Tuesday 16 at 0758 hours, 93 minutes late. The FR24 website is unhelpfully displaying UTC time (not local times) but the flight seems to have taken off at 0036 so that does not account for the whole of the delay. It had to hold briefly above Orphington, England.

The evening of Tuesday 16 has QF1585, the 1915 hours early evening SYD - HBA airborne at 2009 hours (B717 VH-NXI) set to arrive 32 late at 2147 hours.

QF12 from LAX to SYD should be at its destination gate on Wednesday 17 April 2019 at 0725 hours, 55 minutes late.

QF16 departed LAX 61 late so on 17 April arrival looks like 0702 hours, 57 late.
