QANTAS Cyber Incident

An interesting (well not really), post on LinkedIn for those of you who live in that world
I know the poster and have provided him with some direct feedback, that I don't think Qantas' response was textbook perfect. Pile on too if you want :)

Just received this lovely email from KLM. Almost to the word exactly what we've all got from Qantas. Too sorry but not sorry, third party got broken into bla bla. Now bugger off you annoying customers! Not surprising coming from either KLM nor Qantas tbh.

I am SO over all these companies that constantly torture us with ultra complicated passwords and how many factor verification but then it is in 98& of cases THEM who got broken in, just because they're too stingy to set up their security property and/ off shove all our data to some dodgy off shore country.

Re: the data list removal services, think its too late.
They would also probably charge you an ongoing fee, or a once off fee, and who knows, could be a scam in itself.
Its like putting your name on the national do not call list, but charities, as well as political parties, and also companies you have dealt with, ie, your pestering isp can still bamboozle you.
Or you getting a letter in the mail, or an email about a long deeased relo, and a UK barrister is look to help you reunite you and your "lost funds".
The scammers/fraudsters are probably now working to see how much they can get from QF, or if QF will agree to their demands.
Ideally, it should not have been so easy for the fraudster to work the QFs outsourced provider like this/that, ie, so easily.
