Well, well.....

My faith has been restored.

Qantas just phoned and have credited 45,000 points to my account.

Appreciate all the feedback and thoughts on this issue :D

Thanks for closing the loop :)

I made a suggestion last year to Qantas about a particular International route and how to increase Business uptake and improve satisfaction with flight timings + frequency (being a business traveller myself on that route I regularly have to choose another large int carrier, even though I don't want to, due to them having more frequent flights there).

Qantas' response was standard and useless basically saying the routes are what they are and thank you for your feedback.
Now almost a year down the track they're saying their International Operations are loosing money, why don't they listen to us!?

If compliments are generating telephone calls from Qantas staff but rather you wish to complain (responses to which are, according to some members, extremely delayed or non-existent) why not enter a fictitious compliment, wait for the apparently "rapid telephone call", then give the Qntas caller the broadside that was not previously responded to? ;)

I think I have the answer to this whole thing actually... qantas logo is white roo? that makes it an albino right? well according to wiki answers:

Albino kangaroos, or white kangaroos are quite rare. In an albino kangaroo, the normal colouring is absent, and the kangaroo has white fur and sometimes (not always) pink eyes. As with all albino animals, albino kangaroos have a reduced amount of melanin pigment in the eyes, skin, and hair.

Albino kangaroos rarely survive long in the wild. Their eyes and skin have increased sensitivity to sunlight, so they are more prone to sunburn. Their lack of camouflage (white colouring stands out in the wild) also makes them easy targets for predatory animals and birds of prey. Albino kangaroos often have impaired vision as well, so may find it more difficult to dodge predators. Apart from that, they are just as healthy as their normal coloured counterparts.

I actually thought there might have been something about impaired hearing...

I had what I thought was a legitimate complaint about baggage allowance after my flight was switched at the last minute to BA ( whilst at the airport). I was not allowed ( initially) to take the extra bag on board without paying fifty pounds. After a great deal of upset for us, it was allowed on and I wasnt charged. Qantas have been unable to assure me that this wont happen again, so if you are a Qantas Club member, dont take for granted the extra baggage allowance.

No apologies either , just the standard letter which doesnt really wash with me.

Got on the plane ready for a sleep and the seat wouldnt recline, the lovely ladies from BA found us seats in Premium economy, doubt that Qantas would do that, they really do need to lift their game.

AFAIK the QC bag limit, only relates to QF operated flights not flights on other metal.

From the sounds of it the passenger was switched to BA (presumably by Qantas). If QF make the switch then all associated benefits with the original booking will still apply.

If the passenger made the switch of their own accord, then the applicable baggage rules should stand.

I don't quite understand what you're trying to get at? :D

Having just done MEL LAX in J the food was most average. I would be embarrassed to be Neil Perry and won't be going to any of his restaurants if that represents his standards. I will say the crew made all the difference & others have agreed with me on this point of late and while I am at it I think they should just had out a card that says 'we are to cheap to offer amenity kits any more' and just be done with it!

QF did make the switch for me ( whilst at the airport) but apparently the associated benefits of the original booking did not apply, and despite voicing my concerns to Qantas about this on my return, all I have received is the standard apology reply. They have not been able to confirm that this will not happen in the future.

ive had such shocking experiences with qantas over the last 3 years i dont fly them any more ... still waiting 2 yerars for a response to letter... never get answered on phone line.... local office staff cant help or get thru on line either.. hostie said to my friend who is tall and had asked on board to be moved to a seat on the plane where she could get her legs straight in front of her and i Quote '''madam you chose to fly economy get over it " well we did get over it... weve not flown with them since... china southern is a great airline esp in business and very affordable nearly akin to qantas full economy for their business on some routes.... korean air was great recently ... so i dont want to or need to fly the local carier.... such a shame howard got rid of ansett. australian airlines is looking like a front runner for my easter to honolulu if it runs by then

I have found the attitudes of some of the air stewards questionable as well. Especially one time on a flight from Mumbai to Sydney, they did not ensure that children were securely fastened on take off, some were stood on parents laps, a flying missile and dangerous to all concerned. They didnt even bother to check if people had seatbelts on, and when I had a chat with one of them I was told that this was the worst possible sector to fly on.

Well, that might be the case, but they are still required to do their job surely?

Matter of point, John Howard did not get rid of Ansett, it went bankrupt due to mis-management. Blame Air New Zealand in part.

hostie said to my friend who is tall and had asked on board to be moved to a seat on the plane where she could get her legs straight in front of her and i Quote '''madam you chose to fly economy get over it "
lol

+1 to the hostie IMO
