Hi all,
I'm looking at changing from my current BOQ specialist CC and came across the Qantas CU card.
There's an intro offer of 30,000 points and then you can make another 5000 points per month for the first 5 months if you make eligible purchases (I'm not sure what they are). Seems reasonable.

Also, do I need to work for QF to apply for the card? From what I've gathered a lot of specialist credit unions seem to be expanding up to include almost any professionals (ie. Police credit in Victoria opened up to nurses and paramedics a few years ago).

Many thanks!

From my reading of the offer, it's a total of 30000 points (5000 on signup, plus 5000 per month for 5 months). Not 30000 + 25000.

No, you don't need to work for QF to join the Credit Union.

I signed up for this card and a couple of their other points products in April last year. Love the card (and the points home loan I must admit!).

Anyone can join, as per there website under Become a Member heading (I don't work in the aviation industry).

As for the specialist credit unions expanding, I believe thats why they now call themselves the Qantas Credit Union instead of the Qantas Staff Credit Union. In a survey they sent out a while back they were even asking what people thought of ditching the term Credit Union and using the term bank instead :)

Thanks for the replies. The staggering of those 30K points will probably stop me from splurging and force me to save them.... :)
