Credited monthly, at a rate of 400 per $1000 per annum. So you'll get 33 points per $1000 per month.

I see. The wording is poor! The "..per annum" is misleading to me.

The *implied* benefit is 400 points PER MONTH for your >$1k balance however this is saying whatever your average balance is over a year, you get 400 points per $1k average balance ".. per year" or, as suggested, 33/$1k per month.

to me it is not that clear. I don't know how bad it is, maybe it's just me, but the wording is the key - as with most of these things.

Agreed rather misleading and not attractive at all will be leaving money where it is.!!!!!!!!

I agree it's a misleading heading.
I initially thought that its 400 points per 1k per month paid monthly meaning that a 10k balance left idle for a year would earn 48k points.

Maybe *Misleading* is a little harsh, and maybe *Confusing* is a bit fairer.
Had the headline read "400 Qantas Points per annum for every $1000 of your average monthly balance"
instead of "400 Qantas Points for every $1000 of your average monthly balance per annum", then I think it wouldn't have aroused quite the same level of excitement...

Much better to leave your cash in a Mortgage offset account (if you have a mortgage) and earn your points on monthly CC spend.

So if you instead leave your money in their Bonus Saver account you earn 2.95% interest and no QFF points. To earn the 33 points per month under the Qantas account, you're giving up 79 cents of interest per month, effectively paying 2.4 cents per point. Compared to the 0.78 cents per point value they have under Points + Pay, you're handing over 1.6 cents direct to QFF - plus giving their data analytics team an idea of how much money you might have stashed away. No thanks.

If they offer 5pts per transaction like BankWest I might have some interest. As it stands forget it!
