I thought I’d ask for AFF group think on how to use covid flight credits.
Apparently covid flight credits carries your original booking conditions regardless of what fare you buy with the credits. Eg if your original booking had a change fee, that will apply; if your original booking had a cancellation fee, that would apply.
My understanding that these conditions don’t apply to Travel Money.
So if one was to use covid flight credits (with attached change/cancellation fee from original booking) domestically, would the better idea be to use reward bookings for outbound (in case of border closures) and only after arriving at destination use flight credits for return (assuming you are from a State that does not prevent residents returning)?
Or is it more a case of using covid flight credits on fare buckets close to original booking conditions and perhaps booking close to departure date and hope for no abrupt closures?
Or some other suggestion???
Hopefully the discussion helps the small minority of others in a similar situation
