I stumbled across this promotion when I went to renew my individual membership this week (Alas, after years of Platinum I am only silver these days)

I just went to renew my QFClub membership (personal) and was offered my an inexperience staffer the second year for free. Due to an interruption I had to leave the call, and called back 10 minutes later.
The second staffer didn’t offer the second year foc – I had to ask, but it was immediately granted. He noted that the promotion finishes Friday. I got the impression that it started today (Monday).
… though I am still kicking myself for not taking up Lifetime membership 20 years ago.

I guess that makes up for the double SC offer - I didnt seem to get that email :(

Gary

I let mine lapse earlier this year. Any thoughts on whether this would be offered to someone in my position? I suppose I could just call up and find out too :)

This is valid for new memberships as well. What I'd like to know is if it applies for corporate rate memberships too. If so, I'll be jumping on the bandwagon.

EDIT - just read the T&C - not valid for corporate memberships.

I did call Qantas earlier, hoping that it would apply to our Corporate members. Unfortunately not - personal memberships only :(

Oh well - too good to be true!

My corporate rate is cheaper than the the two for one deal, so I won't complain!

At $470 for 2 years, it seems much better than the AFF rate.

When I click the renewal button, it only displays the AFF corporate rate but indicates that by calling the QFF service centre I can revert back to a non-corporate rate and then avail of the offer. I think I'll call tomorrow to find out more...

If you're only 6 months into a 1 year membership year, (ie, exp Nov 2012) and renew today for 2 yrs, does that mean you lose the remaining 6 months and the new exp date becomes May 2014?

Renewal is from the expiry date. The question is whether Qantas will accept a renewal 6 months early.

Just read this one and renewed Mrs Batesy for two years. Great work by the OP. I was not sure we were going to renew at all as all of her work travel is with DJ. This tipped me over the line to renew.

I rang qantas ff thisarvo and they changed me from the corporate plan and renewed mine for 2 years for $470, all done within 5 minutes. Too easy :)

Thanks for that. I would have missed it if it had not been on here.

I renewed for two years for $470 and my summary now shows Qantas club expiry 31 Dec 2014.

Does anyone know if partner memberships allow the same as a standard qantas club membership? As in still allow a guest pass? If so for a new joiner this presents excellent value

so let me get this straight....

thanks to the double SCs offer...

all previous golds are now plats, using the F lounges and dom J lounges.

all previous silvers are now golds using the club

all previous bronzes are now either silver + club membership, or have cheap club by itself and using the club as well

So that means the gate area will become the new super exclusive quiet waiting area! :)

yay for me! (since I lose gold soon and will not be forking out for QF club).

Yes. Partner membership gives you the exact same benefits as standard QP membership.

Just rang Qantas Club Services & changed from my corporate @ $390 per year back to individual for the $470 for 2 years so saved $310. Obviously corporate schemes vary in annual fee but, as a point of interest, what is the AFFs corporate scheme fee per year?

I'm hitting SG in a fortnight, almost by accident - I'll certainly lose it after my first year. If I take advantage of this now will the 2-year QP membership freeze while I'm SG and automatically resume when I fall back to PS? Might be a nice way to soften the landing.

Yes. Any balance you have on your QF membership will be put on hold for the duration you are gold or above. It resumes once you lose the status.
