Qantas Club renewal - renew now and get 1 year free

I wonder at what point will Qantas finally decide that too many people have access to the QP? I find it hard enough during peak times to just get a seat in the QP, and all the newly minted SG's through the double SC offers and this will just add to it.

I dropped my AFF corporate rate and renewed a few months early for 2yrs.
Any idea what happens if I attempt to renew for a 2nd time?

Just rang Qantas Club Services & changed from my corporate @ $390 per year back to individual for the $470 for 2 years so saved $310. Obviously corporate schemes vary in annual fee but, as a point of interest, what is the AFFs corporate scheme fee per year?
The AFF renewal rates can be found here.

This offer is a much better deal. Grab it while it lasts.

is there any issue if you change back to personal rate from corporate rate . What happens when two years run out. Can you then renew with the corporate rate (assuming you still qualify) without paying another joining fee?

all previous golds are now plats, using the F lounges and dom J lounges.

I'm gold and was looking forward to double SC to make platinum this year (was for 5 years up until recently) but never got the double SC's. Some Gold members are still Gold :(

My comments here relate to the AFF Corporate scheme but apply equally across the board.

You can swap to the AFF Corporate scheme at any time so long as your AFF Gold membership is valid.

There is no difference in membership benefits between corporate and standard membership other than the price.

If you are already a Qantas Club member the AFF membership would of course follow on from the end of your current membership and there would be no joining fee.

I've now processed two renewals on my account at the discounted rate.
Since reaching VA Gold, I was going to drop my QP membership. But for the little bit of QF travel I do, I can justify $235 per year.

Renewal is from the expiry date. The question is whether Qantas will accept a renewal 6 months early.

I've just called the contact centre who offered to look into backdated my February renewal. Unfortunately it was denied but I did jag the promo and now have QP till 2015.

A huge thank you to OP!!

Oh well - too good to be true!

My corporate rate is cheaper than the the two for one deal, so I won't complain!

Out of interest, if you can share, how much is your corporate membership for 2 years? And what organisation is it that gets it for less than $475?

So does that mean it allowed you to renew for 4 years?

Just tried on seperate CC's and declined stating "am currently processing a request fo increased membership"

Guess 2 years for 1 is still pretty good.

Maybe try again today. I did one over phone so maybe it allowed me twice that way? But expiry date updated instantly. I used same card number.

OK tried again and now a happy member for 4 years.
not sure why but same CC, so ???

Cheers and thanks for the heads up on this one, my membership was about 5 days from expiring and I was just going thru the AFF channels but it was going to be a chunk more expensive.

As some of the regulars know, I don't frequent on here much these days (busy some how lol) .... I joined up Gold again to do this through AFF, and admin kindly let me know about the promotion and advised it would be much more expensive to do it through him rather than Qantas direct. If it wasn't for his integrity, I would have been out of pocket more and a lot angry when I found out! So I am happy that I don't need to work about it for another 4 years, and is the best $50 I have spent in a while :)

Hi all,

Thanks to the OP for the alert!

I'm currently QF bronze, having usually done very little travel domestically, but that is set to change so I'm seriously considering it - I'll go close to Gold in my next membership year, but may not quite make it.

I'm also heading OS late this year, mostly with QF and BA in Y, so as far as I understand it from the eligibility rules, if I have Qantas Club membership with QFF Bronze I'll be able to access lounges for the following flights:

QF29: MEL - HKG - Yes
BA28: HKG - LHR - Yes
BA990: LHR - TXL - No
BA175: LHR - JFK - No
QF3152 (AA Codeshare): SFO - LAX - ?? (AA Admirals Club?)
QF94: LAX - MEL - Yes?

Would this assessment be correct? This may tip me over the line :)

cheers

if you are not stopping in London on the way to Berlin (transit for example) the. you will have access to the galleries lounge there as it is part of an international itinerary including Asia. if you are stopping in London, the. access may be denied (but since it is all on the one ticket I'd give it a go anyway).

yes to access for the AA club in SFO and again at lax prior to departure for MEL (joint qf/AA lounge)
