Well, well, I never knew a WP could gain lounge access with an onward QF flight, is that really correct?.
Do you mean without an onward flight? Or have I missed something?
I often use arrivals access as to many posters here.

A VA Gold has arrivals lounge access. A Qantas Gold does not.
Its listed clearly under the Platinum benefits:
Domestic Lounge access on arrival
As a Platinum Frequent Flyer you can access Domestic Business Lounges or The Qantas Club upon arrival if you have travelled that day on any flight that shows a Qantas, a Jetstar Airline or a oneworld® flight number on your ticket.^ You may also bring two guests, who do not need to be travelling.
Well, stuff me. Never picked up on that one. Can't imagine needing to use it on domestic flights, but it seems like if you have flown in on an eligible international flight (therefore 'travelled that day'), then if I had a VA onward flight, I could then sit myself in the QF lounge waiting for my VA flight (as I've recently dropped to VA silver, thus lost lounge access).

I don't believe the benefit applies to international lounges, hence the heading "Domestic Lounge access on arrival". So, for example, you can't fly BNE-SIN on QF and then access the lounge. However, the wording of the benefit suggests that if you flew SIN-BNE you could use the domestic lounge on arrival.
I think that Qantas Gold is a bit tarnished
