All eligible passengers, including Qantas Club members and Gold frequent flyers, will be welcome to use the domestic Qantas Business lounges at these airports instead.

Yay. I suspect the Perth Business Lounge is going to be rather busy. Tons of FIFO workers about still.

Most buffet and self serve food removed from MEL Dom J. Spice Kitchen serving five meals instead of two. Looks like a seven-course lunch of James Boags on the cards.

I can see over to part of the F lounge and there’s not much movement.

Now the PM has banned non essential domestic travel, I’d expect all lounges to close. There will be a further reduction in domestic schedules.

It’s not been banned yet. Still just a recommendation

A bit hard when 3 states/territories (TAS, SA, NT) have closed their borders and another two are in a complete shut-down (NSW, VIC). WA premier is expected to make an announcement at 3pm (AEDT) that he is closing their border as well.

Non essential? That's just about all travel right?

Apart from NRL & AFL apparently...

There’s now a queue outside the MEL domestic lounge entrance at the top of the escalator. I’m assuming the 100 pax limit is in force? Staff taking coffees out to people waiting to get in.

A bit ridiculous - because the airport terminal is also enclosed so is technically subject to the same rule. And you're about to get on a metal tube with more than 100 people (unless is the load is very bad).

I have some QFF lounge passes that expiry oct 2020,
was going to sell/donate them,

interational travel banned until may/jun,

are these essentially worthless now? can anyone realistically use them?

Not unexpected after the announcement yesterday of all non-essential interstate travel to cease and several state borders closing. The cutback on domestic flights will be much much deeper than anyone could have forecast 5 days ago.

Good move. Airline lounges would probably not have had an exemption to remain open under the latest restrictions, unless providing takeaway food/coffee only.

At LHR T3 right now. Was counting on lounge for my 9h layover. RIP. Most stores and lounges are shuttered here. Virgin lounge is open I believe.
