Do this. Being rerouted to the direct flight on a status run is the best case scenario IMO.

Its just happened again my CNS-BNE-SYD (during DSCs) has just been changed to CNS-SYD non stop, but as this was an award flight the ORC for the DSC will be due to points club so possibly not such a straight forward claim.

Typical they changed the return flight whoich is in J, but still left me indirect for the outbound in Y.

similar here but unlucky in a sense that it’s still CNS - BNE - SYD but I am now leaving BNE 2 hours earlier than I arrive 😂. It’s in Feb 2023, so not a problem for now to fix as MMB only allows me to call them, everything else is shaded out in grey…

NZ will apparently drop the pre-departure testing requirement next week.

Now confirmed - no more pre-departure test required from 11:59pm 20 June.

Travellers would still be required to self-test on day 0/1 and again on day 5/6.

Just did my eligible flight. DSC credited 2 days after 1st flight, 24 hours after 2nd flight.
Happy days here.
When's the next promo?

Wow. Missed the new rules by about a week. Would have been nice to save the cost of the test. Oh well. I did have a shadow in J flying to NZ as a SG which was nice (business was only about half full).

If they're requiring post arrival RAT tests they'll probably still hand those out for free, I guess. In any case it's an honour system as far as I can tell. I reported that I tested negative for my day 0/1 test.

The pre-departure COVID test didn't put me off doing a status run. The DSC are very welcome.

Ha! Same. Same. Same.

Made a new friend though ;)

Looking at the prices for NZ now the DSC must have coincided with a NZ sale that was going on at the time thus the $1000 J fares.

Very late to it but alas the cheapest is around $1433 in J at the moment. Next DSC offer this year maybe....? 3x in 2018, 2x in 2019.

There was a sale going on. When the next DSC offer comes along it's possible the best value routes may involve travelling elsewhere.

I did a status run SYD-CHC the other week in J and got DSCs less than 48 hours later. Given the flight over got delayed and I didn't get to bed until the time I had to be up 24 hours later (2.30am) - I really feel I earned it.

I made one other big booking, to the US in Premium Economy for Thanksgiving that'll net me 400 instead of 200 (fly into DFW on QF7 on the way over to Chicago and New York, into LAX on QF12 on the way back).

What's the timeframe for everyone's SCs crediting to their accounts? I've recently returned from HBA, booked with a flight credit but in the promo period (I understand I'm eligible given the rules on the promo), but haven't received my credits 1 week post. My partner booked a new booking and had their credits appear within 24 hours.

Mine all came within 24 hours

Mine were within 48 hours but I've definitely had it take longer - up to 2 weeks.

24 hours is a bit quick for DSC. Usually 2 days, sometimes 3. they will post :)

Question for the brains trust - I made a booking during the promo SYD-PER-MEL-SYD. I'm not unable to take this trip, so was wondering if I could call to change the booking SYD-MEL-ADL-MEL-SYD (on different dates) to preserve the promo attached to the PNR?

Yes, as long as your new dates are within the eligible travel period you will still receive DSC.
