I paid for one of my DSC flights with the balance of a travel pass which did not have DCSs of its own attached, and in doing so I was unable to select carbon offfset, even though the payment was split across Travel Pass and a Credit Card. Its almost as if QF doesnt want you to be green!

With the NZ iternaries for status runs, wondering how to handle a flight that arrives at 12:30am in Auckland... early/late check in at the hotel or play the waiting game at the airport... hmm
Considering the arrival time is 12:30am with the earliest return at 6 you'll have between 0100 and 0445 local time as downtime. If it were me I'd be waiting it out at the airport, boarding asap then sleeping.
If you take a later NZ departure then sure makes sense to get a night in an airport hotel. Kind of goes against the status run mentality though.

Thank you.
I ended up calling them this morning just before 6.30 am Adelaide.
By the accent I think it was South Africa.
Asked if it could be made so I could book online myself. She said about converting it into a
Qantas pass and had to check, eventually got back to me and said something about Tsand Cs
that cant do that.
Asked if I booked with that credit it would qualify for the current double scs etc promotion.
Another wait while she checked - but said no.
While on hold I thought it would be easier to get a credit so I asked re that -another wait on
hold while she checked with manager and was approved. have to wait 8 weeks -which is ok, but just hope it goes through ok to credit card as I have a new expiry date etc since then.
The booking credit seems to have gone from my account - but they dont seem to send an
email just confirming its in the process. I didnt think about keeping a note of reference number.
Dont know why they make it so hard to use credit vouchers.

Can I pls ask a basic question re status? I've never had any 😐
Say my anniversary date is May 30 2022, I'll start with 0 SC, then I take a few flights after May 30. If I get to 700 SC by September 2022 does that mean I then lose my Gold status on May 30 2023 or do I get to keep the Gold status until May 2024? I know I will lose the SC.
Thanks

You keep the status for the remainder of the membership year in which you achieved it, and also for the following membership year.

It is possible to have the new status for almost 24 months, depending upon the month in which you qualify.

So, until 31 May 2024 in the example that you have provided

The SCs you earn in your current year will deliver status for when you hit the target and into the next year. So earnings for you 1 June 2022 until 30 May 2023 will give status from whenever you hit the target to 30 May 2024.

If you are meaning that you didn't keep a note of the booking reference number, perhaps look for the email with the booking pdf while fresh in the mind? Otherwise all you have is a record of the time and date of the call. Personally I would print the booking pdf, write the notes of the call and then take a photo on the phone. Just so you have 2 records of it.

Then destroy it once you receive the refund (in the 8 weeks). If no refund, then call again and say they haven't refunded in the 8 weeks promised.

Have done. Thanks for tips!

Am I right in recalling that converting a flight voucher with an existing PNR or travel bank credit into a booking won’t qualify?
Not sure my previioous reply went through.
I called Qantas and asked this exact question.
I was advised that whilst it doesnt appear on their public facing T&Cs, the lovely lady contacted her supervisor and discovered it is expressly permitted on their internal T&C's for this promotion. In fact she read it out to me. I asked was this guaranteed and she said it was. I am trying to get this in wrintting (Email or Msg) but not having any luck at this stage.

Perhaps Admin may have a contact that can help give some more certainty?

I t was a Customer Service Officer in Australia I spoke too and as stated she actually read from their internal T&Cs which read a flight credit can be used for the new booking and will count towards the double credit status......... Would love to get it in writing!!!

Let's hope so. With no restriction on when the flights need to be taken, this is potentially a very generous offer...
In the T&C's it states the flights need to be taken by 23 March 2023.

A related question to the double points/status offer. Assuming you go for double points rather than status and you already have Gold status so you already gets 75% uplift on points. Here's my question: lets say a flight gets you 10,000points (or 17,500 for a Gold member with the Gold bonus) what does a Gold member end up with??? Having read the fine print I think its 20000 - the greater of 17500 or 20000 for this example. Or is it 27500 by any chance. It's definitley not 35000 which is double what you get as a Gold status FF.

Didn't receive a confirmation email but when I chose the DSC promotion I was greeted with a page confirming my choice (which I promptly took a screenshot of). Seeing as I've already made a booking for AKL after choosing the bonus offer, I'll assume I'll get those DSCs in January when I fly out.

I ALWAYS take a screenshot, as things have stuffed up once or twice in the past and it has been necessary to resort to the screen shot to prove my case.

That's what I have been tossing up too. I'm leaning towards the points, as I have managed to get past LTG and with the latest extension I'm WP until June 2023. With retirement only four years away, I need to start amassing more points for our big retirement soiree, so MrsK at least can be in J.
So I am just a few years ahead of you @kookaburra75 and just remember that you will have the best chance of getting those J Classic Awards flights if you are a WP. So it is definitely worth the effort to retain it long enough to make your retirement bookings, or at least the first round of them!

So double points for QF have usually been double the BASE points for the fare paid, ignoring any and all status bonuses.

So in your example yes, 10,000 bonus points would be awarded.

(note this can also get confusing on short trips where the minimum points guarantee kicks in)
