Qantas Chauffeur service - General Questions/Advice

Could you provide a link, please?

I know that for CD to the airport, the provision is that the driver is required to wait only 15 minutes after the appointed time and may then advise that he/she will be reallocated. (In my experience, they invariably arrive early - but have no problem in waiting until the scheduled time.)

However, I have not seen anything relating to the time a driver will wait after the booked time for a CD meeting an arriving flight. Even with delays in baggage delivery, I've not experienced a problem in those circumstances at any airport where CD is offered.

Are you reporting that this is a recent change to the T&Cs?

My experience at LHR lately has been that there a myriad of drivers waiting and they are allocated to you once you present yourself to the desk. If I was held up for some reason in the baggage claim area I would message the SST or ring to let them know.
I also haven't experienced any issues. I left an iPad onboard and waited ages at MEL for it to be sent back to me. No issues with CD.

Yes, all that seems to reflect my experience, too, PF.
But perhaps there has been a change to the T&Cs that is not showing up in a response to a general search.

Will await a response to post #660 - but will hope that it is a case of misinformation (not rare), and that this most welcome service continues as it has been. :)

I'm eligible for CD for an upcoming QF1 flight, and I have a friend, on a seperate booking, who's travelling in economy. When I get CD are they able to take the additional passenger in the same car? I'm assuming this shouldn't be an issue but just wanting to make sure.

It's usually fine; I've hitched a ride before without any dramas.

Yep. Not sure if technically allowed, but it definitely happens all the time.

The chauffeur company (usually Brunel if departing Australia) will call you a couple of days beforehand and ask how many passengers are travelling and how many pieces of baggage you'll be taking. Just let them know there are two of you and they'll send an appropriately sized car.

Hi,

I'm flying into LHR next year on QF9 in J so have CD access. I'm going to be connecting to another flight that day and, while I'm trying to avoid it, I might have to transit to LCY for the connecting flight. Does anyone know if I can use CD to go from LHR to LCY? Thanks.

If it's within the permitted distance then of course.

Google maps show it as 28.1 miles via the M4,
29.8 miles on the M4 and A4 and
62 miles via the M25.

Just leave lots of time with nearly two hours for each trip at approximately 1600 hours local time.

I don't think there is any issue. If it is suggested that there is a poblem then there are plenty of houses and businesses very close by that could be your 'destination'.

Is it necessary to phone Qantas if the chauffeur drive pick-up times presented online aren't suitable, or can you contact the company directly?

I'm disappointed that with my flight to Dallas (from SYD) first class with Qantas I don't get the chauffeur-drive service :(

Does anyone know a way I can ask Qantas for this service and receive a driver?

May be a few years ago, but now I don't think you have a chance.

Hi everyone,

Sorry i'm sure this has been asked before but hoping you can answer again.

I redeemed some QFF points flying business from Bangkok to Sydney on Emirates. My itinerary shows Qantas letterhead/information but has an EK flight number. looking at the QANTAS website it only refers to QF flight numbers and excludes flights between Asia and Australia.

My question is, am i eligible since my flight number is an EK and Emirates offer concierge in Bangkok? If i'm not eligible in Bangkok am i eligible in Sydney on arrival?

I redeemed business/first EK flights SYD to BKK return via Qantas points at the end of 2016. Got the chauffeur both ways.

It usually makes no difference whether the fare is paid or with points. Perhaps login to the EK website with your booking reference no and see if you can select CD?
