Whoa!
Have I missed something critical?
If flying ex-MEL to LHR via SIN in F or J, is there no CD on offer?
Or has the Melbourne weather fried my brain?

There is CD if you connect to/from QF1/2 in SYD.

QF35/36 has never been included AFAIK.

The other option is QF9/10 via PER.

Yes, thanks, Kangol.
I understand the options - but hate the MEL-SYD transfer process for the onward journey to Europe.
And QF9/10 doesn't give the F option.

We have certainly used the CD service for flights via MEL-SIN-LHR and return, using QF1/QF2 for the relevant legs via SIN.

But the link provided above suggests that is no longer - or won't be - an option.
I must go back to studying the fine print!

Ah, I thought you wanted to include J with QF9/10 via PER.

What were your MEL-SIN flight numbers and how long ago were they?

I can't find an archive of what the old rules were, so I suspect it may have been in the early times of moving QF1/2 back to a SIN transit from DXB. Maybe around when QF9/10 changed to go via PER.

Phew!

Just went to my June-July booking, which is MEL-SIN-LHR then LHR-SIN-MEL.
Was able to book CD to MEL, pickup at LHR, CD to LHR and pick up at MEL on return.
Who knows if that will still be the case after 1 March though?

Apologies for the less than specific reference to J.
I certainly did not want anything other than F. :) But my partner prefers J. :)

For the record, we have used CD on this routing over recent months and definitely since the PER flights were introduced.

Still a mystery as to what will happen with F and J flights to LHR, ex MEL, via SIN. :(
According to the new rules they are ineligible.
You might have booked them when they were allowed. Usually if the booking is made, it sticks unless there has been a change to the ticket.

I booked the CD component for the June-July flights about an hour ago, as posted above.
The flights themselves were booked some time back, of course.

Yes I meant flight booking/ticketing.
I have a similar LHR-SIN-MEL in F for this year, ticketed in probably Sep or Oct last year and at the time CD was not available on arrival into MEL, as per the rules at the time. Checked again and it is the same - not available.

Is your upcoming June/July booking on QF35/36?
Were your previous flights where you did book and use CD on the same flight number?

The June 2019 departure was ticketed in August 2018.
It’s on QF37, QF1 and QF2, QF36.

CD showed as available this afternoon, when I booked the service.
When do you think the change occurred?

The most recent previous flights where CD was available, via SIN, were QF35, QF1 and QF2, QF36.

Interesting, QF37 is showing as an A330 (ie. no F). Hope you are not forgoing F by having to take a later flight!
I suspect the change occurred for bookings that were not originally through DXB - just a suspicion. Fare conditions were less restrictive then.
Were any of your MEL-LHR flights originally booked to go through DXB?
If not, there goes that theory :D

No, all new bookings, so another theory bites the dust.

And yes, I had forgotten that some other factors necessitated the first leg of that particular trip being on a non-F aircraft. Ayeeee! Somehow, I had managed to block that horror from my mind.

Fortunately, from there on, SIN-LHR and LHR-SIN-MEL, it’s all F.
And CD wherever needed.
For now, at least. :)

I'm confirmed on QF1 to SIN next Monday, travelling in F ( big deal for me, as first time in First ).

But the link to CD ( QANTAS website ) doesn't seem to take you to a booking page.

Surely the CD service is still available for F pax on QF1 out of Sydney ?

Any advice …. ?

You need to be travelling all the way to LHR not just SIN to be eligible for Chauffeur Drive: link

You need to be travelling all the way to LHR not just SIN to be eligible for Chauffeur Drive: link
Although, adding to the confusion, that link does say:

Changes to the Chauffeur Drive program
Effective 1 March 2019, Qantas' complimentary Chauffeur Drive service will no longer be offered on Qantas operated flights in Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington and Singapore, and the complimentary mileage band for London is amended from 70 miles to 50 miles.

I'm eligible for Chauffeur Drive for my SYD-LHR Qantas flight tomorrow (and have infact booked it for my pickup at the destination in LHR), but I appear to have left booking the trip to the airport too late as the website no longer lets me book it.

Is there someone I can contact to manually book this in? Would much rather the Chauffeur Drive than uber or the train...
