Qantas Chauffeur service - General Questions/Advice

Thank you paginjoan. It would have been nice to actually have a driver waiting for me when I had prebooked the service.

Arriving off a long haul flight with no driver and no Qantas staff or desk in sight is a bad way to end a trip. The extra 1 1/2 hours to get home completely removed the warm glow I had from the excellent service on board. Brunel were not good at getting a car for me, despite the best efforts of the Qantas staff member (who was given the runaround by the company and did not have the appropriate contact details to hand: she had to get these from the Flounge). Perhaps Qantas need to look at their processes for this too.

My expectations are not great: a driver waiting when booked, a safe driver and a clean car. These are the reasons I no longer use taxis in Australia. Traffic jams do not faze me: they are just one of those things.

A bit of advice for others who may find a problem once landslide: go to departures to the Qantas sales desk in departures if you have any problems. I found this out by luck as there is no customer care or signage once landside at arrivals.

Part of my gripe is that Qantas just blame the operator when things go wrong. The airline chooses the supplier, my contract is with the airline but when the Qantas' chosen supplier fails then it becomes my problem and Qantas do ot seem intersted in dealing with it. I was really appalled when I got the same dreadful driver on 2 consective trips to the airport despite complaining about him after the first trip. Clearly no one took the original concerns seriously.

As I have said elsewhere on AFF you can tell a lot about a company when things go wrong by seeing how they deal with the problem. Qantas complaints are letting down the side. A pity as so much else has been imporved & CD should be a joy (& is in London)

i don't believe so - we've never..they are usually in a rush to get to the next job and don't hang around after the luggage is unloaded
 
It's not expected in Australia, and I haven't tipped (or felt any pressure to) in Dubai or London either.

That is my experience too. Being Qantas pax there may also be an overlay of "Australians do not tip" but never felt pressured to do so.
 
No need to feel any pressure....but "have a drink when you've finished" has always been appreciated...in my experience..


Many are subcontractors or independent operators paid to fill gaps in the roster for the company which Qantas has contracted to do the transfers. These drivers appreciate positive feedback and future (direct) bookings too as the former increases the possibility of more work from the chauffeur drive company and the latter builds up theri own businesses.
 
Hi, Sorry if this question has been answered before, this will be the first time I could use this service:

I will be booking to fly from Sydney to Doha (return) on Business in Feb 2017 on Qantas Website to get the bonus QFF points using my ANZ Platinum Card. QF8415 (operate by Emirates) at 06:00 from Sydney.

1. Will I be able to book the CD picking me up at 2am in the morning from my home (within 40km of the airport)?
2. Is it better to book the CD on Emirates website?
3. Will I be able to get CD free at Doha picking up and dropping off for the flights back (will need picking up at midnight in Doha)?
4. CD from Sydney airport back home could also be booked as well?

Actually i dont think it will matter.

If you've purchased through QF personally i'd stick with the QF site (QF MMB) for the CD (so if it fails you can always blame QF plus they'll be easier to deal with upon return).

Booked into business (D fare) QF9/10 so from what I can work out I should be eligible.

Am I missing something obvious? Help!

Dont have a "live" international booking currently, but IIRC it was either at the top of MMB or when you click down to "before you travel".

On my MMB it is on the left hand side under FLIGHT DETAILS
 
Qantas live chat help guy tells me I should be eligible and that the link won't appear until 7 days prior to travel but I'm not sure I've seen a 7 day rule anywhere.

Not that I'm a frequent Qantas F flyer, but it come s up on the MMB of my December, 2017 flight.
