Anyone have any reports on Qantas Business Syd/Hnl return (QF003, QF004). Looking at booking next August/September, but there are some old horrendous reports on Trip Advisor. Seems Qantas relegates their older aircraft to this flight. Have previously flown Business with Qantas (Syd to Singapore), am wondering if similar experience. Any information appreciated.

Who knows what QF will be doing service-wise a year from now...!? I just got q.F'd with my transcon A330 J-suite turning into a B737 J-seat this week.

Anyway...if they still have B747s, you might get one with the old F class in the nose (at the front of the plane) = sit there!

And when you check in, make sure you do the human assisted version and not use the automated kiosks, that way the check in "guard" can ask you all the standard quickfire questions (ones which no nae'er-do-well would had thought to prepare for) prior to check in, and not at the gate (which gives you a bypass sticker in your passport).

You will also get to eat and drink:

On the flight over standard drink and non-premium packaged nuts (on the return flight, why not do VA and ask for chips instead)

Then you get salad, bread and an entree (aka "small plates" in the unAustralian QFvernacular).

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

There will also be a main course (again, weird QF UnAustralian phrasing of "large plates")

Followed by dessert. And before arrival there will be a second smaller food service (breakfast or dinner depending on which way you are flying).

You can pre-order your first meal's entree and main course about a week before you fly, by going online and managing your booking... (because QF will, in all likelihood, run out of your first choice if you don't).

QF3 is operated by a B747 in August 2019 up to the 28th. From 30th August to 4th October an A330 is timetabled. Obviously this scheduling can change.

And by late 2019 all the 'unique' aircraft in the QF fleet will be gone.
332s. Last aircraft (EBG) with SkyBedI expected to be refurbed over Feb/Mar 2019.
747s. Last aircraft (OEB) with First and SkyBedI expected to be withdrawn Mar2019.

So all the 332s will have Business Suite, and all the 747s the SkyBedII

If it's the A330, you are in for a treat.
If you are on the 744, don't expect too much, I was swapped from an A330 to 747 (OEB), luckily I chose 3A on the old first class cabin which made it bearable as the seat had additional leg room, but the service wasn't great at all. Food pretty much what @dk4 showed. You get lunch and dinner when flying to SYD.

It sounds though that as you are flying next Sept, it may be the A330 which is a great hard product.

I suspect that's a trendy way to avoid confusion with the meaning of the word Entree with our North American friends ...
I have no doubt that you are absolutely correct. But better, I think, to learn the vernacular (if unfamiliar) from the small Qantas menu selection on the flight over, rather than get completely lost in translation when hit with a multi-page local menu on arrival at one of the city's finest establishments.
