Qantas Business Rewards [Replaces Aquire]

So realigning the reward/value trade off to those earning more business reward points per year, and upping the discount for those earning more points but reducing their points earn. Level 1 gets to keep those pending points, albeit at reduced earning. That would seem to be a gain.

I think I have lost 2% on the flight discount (now 8%)

From what I can tell, anyone that wasn't able to get to the minimum threshold before will now be able to earn something... but everyone else loses out that were already earning, depending on the fares they buy.

You're right. My mistake. I was mainly thinking of my situation. Level 2. So flexi earn reduces 10%. Discount economy is the same. discount for flexi increases from 5% to 7% (I think). That might be about equal to the lost points. But yes business and premium economy discount is down, earn is down.

complex relationships

We are Level 1. At least I should be able to transfer the points though without the pending limit.

Additionally to the drop in earn, the 2% loss I was referring to was the 10% off purchasing flexible whY flights (Aquire deal) - this is now only 8%

I'll have to admit I don't remember the level of the previous discount off hand. I was just going off the post below that said previously 5% for flexi.
My last flexi purchase, the one I wanted to change, had about a 5% discount on the raw numbers.
But I don't know for sure.

Previously it was:
Fare class Saving Book In Advance
Domestic
Economy Flex 5% 7 days
Business 10% 10 days
International
Economy Flex 5% 7 days
Premium Economy Saver 10% 10 days
Business Saver 10% 10 days

My email featured a few male models at a tailors getting measured for suits ... not sure how that is relevant to a female MD or flying for that matter ...

Unfortunate isn't it. Especially when you see the demographic here: Meet Our Top Industry Talent - Our People | Qantas Loyalty | Qantas Loyalty

They used to have more female presence, but a couple have moved on to other roles within the Group like Stephanie Tully: https://mumbrella.com.au/qantas-shu...loyalty-cmo-tully-replace-mccoll-jones-274447. Her replacement Tanya Bulkin has also moved roles.

Having said that, Jo Boundy is a recent arrival to Loyalty - I travelled with her and other QF Execs on the first SYD/DXB flight in 2013 and saw her on her last day in her Comms role at QF HQ before she moved across Buildings.

I am probably wrong, I could not remember so went back looking at old emails - the one I found said 10% for flex whY but it could have been a short term promotion

Just rec'd an email on this addressed to my (female) name telling me how important I am. Every photo in the email is of men apparently in business. What is this the 1950s? Trumps's America?

Yes. I noticed exactly the same thing as soon as I opened the email.

All of the busy, successful men hard at work.....

Don't worry your pretty little head over it and just "get back to the kitchen where you belong"

....I'll be along shortly so we can exchange recipes!

I think I've lost 5%. Never used this much as I really only wanted the discount as I wouldn't reach the 20k, but I'm sure I used to get 10% for domestic J. As a lowly member it appears to now only be 5%.

C'mon VA, time for a J sale! ;)

No more earn on I class J fares or F/A fares in F. That's an enhancement if ever I saw one.

It's all about level 3 which I won't ever qualify for.

I assume you're basing that off a table you saw on the website? I saw it too, but think it only refers to the discount you can get, not what you earn. It is a little confusing though. After all, the table below suggests only level 3 members can earn on 2 red-e-deal buckets! :p level 1 + 2 miss out I'm afraid!

As far as I am aware it is not new. Last year the Aquire agent advised that as long as it has a QF Number you will earn points.

And a helpful reminder that you need to credit the original flight to Qantas Frequent Flyer to get the Qantas Business Rewards points. If you credit to any other scheme it will not work.

a few years ago Mr FM received an invitation to the annual coughtail party from QF loyalty based on his plat status plus CC spend. I received one as well from Aquire as we had a lot of Aquire points that year (I was also the CEO for the business). I accepted each invitation in the name of the invitee. On the evening there was no name tag for me - I had dwindled into a +1 for Mr FM. :)
