I left hungry in First class even just the other day. 17 hours from Dallas, tiny main (very tasty but tiny portion), then zero “snack” option in flight (these seem to have been quietly taken off the US overnight routes just recently- chips or cookies as the only food options in First is definitely not good enough) and an atypically mediocre breakfast with near inedible stone-hard bacon. I was indeed peckish still and ended up having a muesli when I got home.

Why would you fly QFi in 1st when other airlines such as SQ will hardly ever let you down with their excellent catering?

As a bonus, SQ, while not perfect, generally has a better punctuality and reliability performance than QFi.

SQ don’t fly to Dallas. The routing via SIN would take at least 30 hours, vs 17 non-stop. SQ has an annoying seat belt policy.

But going back to Berlin’s observations… while items on the F menu such as the steak sandwich are listed under entrees, you can request those for later in the flight as snacks, and business class also has hot sarnies available as snacks during flight. Agree the options might be better explained in the F cabin!

QF521 BNE-SYD.

Scheduled departure 1025, but it was essentially a breakfast menu.

Corned meat fritters with tomato and spinach or a tomato and cheese tart.

I selected the fritters but as I was in row 3 and only one other pax selected the tart, the CSM gave me both.

And you know what goes well with breakfast served at 12:30pm? … Vasse Felix Cabernet Sauvignon.
