Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Slightly OT, but have just completed a Qantas Research Panel survey for pax who have flown F and/or J in the past 12 months on any airline.
Shown examples of dinnerware and asked for preferred choices and explain why.
Seems QF might be looking at enhancing their crockery.
Pity it isn't a Red Planet survey and earn points for my 10 minutes.

Got the same survey yesterday- completed it last night. A lot of those white crockery options were very similar.

I have received it, but not completed as yet. Are they asking about the quality, presentation of the food or just the crockery?

Seriously- the table wear, that is their main concern? How about decent portions, edible food and some more variety? But no, we need fancier plates…
It’s all part of the package of improvements, which overall are pretty good (maybe a bit late!)

I have not come across any food that is inedible on board.

They have some issues with plating, but the quality and quantity of the food is good. Agree maybe some more variety! :)

Quality is very hit and miss but mostly on the positive side, I agree. But portion wise? Qantas is one of the few airlines out there where I regularly leave the plane still feeling peckish after flying in J. Especially Domestically but even in International. Hardly any other airline where this happens to me, maybe JAL because I can’t eat any of those fishy things but otherwise, not really. But admittedly, I’m a big boy with a big appetite :p

Me too! Big appetite… and a fear that I need to eat on board in case I can’t find anything to eat in arrival! 🤣

But there’s the nuts to start (with seconds if you want), choice of three entrees, multiple serves of bread, mains, dessert, cheese, mid flight snacks and the arrival meal. I can’t say I’ve ever left a QFi flight hungry, in any class!

First flight on my SYD-AKL-BNE-SYD SC run this morning.

Trip did not get off to a good start as my original flight (the last flight from SYD-AKL) was cancelled so they put me on the first SYD-AKL departure the next day.

Menu card was offered and breakfast was as follows:

Had the omelette which was pretty good. The banana bread was very tasty.

Was offered a morning tea of biscuit and choice of hot drink (went with an apple juice as I had tea with breakfast already)

As an aside I went to the EK SYD this lounge this morning as our flight was leaving from gate 55 and I had the lounge to myself for 45mins so it was quite fun.

Second leg of my SC run from AKL-BNE on the 789 service. Managed to snag 10K the bulkhead 'true' window seat so I was happy.

Menu was given out but they had more and slightly different options on offer (2 hot and 1 cold) as I suspect the menu is more for the 73H services. Drinks were the same as the menu this morning.

Had the chicken rice option and I have to say it's a slight disappointment as the chicken, whilst significant in portion, was very dry and I had to use the vinaigrette from the starter to make it more edible.

Dessert was the usual Kaipiti ice cream (salted caramel this time) which was appreciated.

For drinks I had the champagne as the welcome drink and the Grosset Riesling with dinner. Both were very drinkable.

Walked by the soon to open new AKL lounge and it looks like they are still doing with works inside and outside...

Last flight for my SC run (it has been a very long day) on QF555 the A321XLR service form BNE-SYD.

PDB was a bottle of water. Dinner was a choice between a mushroom tortellini or a chicken salad.

Went with the tortellini (as did most others) and it was a good comfort food.

Also had a semillon from Margan Estate in NSW and it went well with the pasta.

Crew was great on this sector. Special shout out to Tony who was serving the J cabin with the CSM.

Spotted two of The Wiggles on my flight (Anthony and Simon) as they had just finished their show in Brisbane earlier today.
