Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Lunch service in J , ntl-adl. Also IFE on the blink the whole way. Luckily could call in to the ADL business lounge on arrival. Lovely new space 👍, food was meh, Chardonnay was Penfolds Koonunga Hill, $14.99 in Qantas Wine 🤷‍♀️, but hey, I got here safe, so yeah.

That was the entire lunch offering, in J, with no other options?
Would have expected better in Y!

25 July QF168 CHC-MEL 0620 departure

Options were a feta & spinach quiche, chicken sausage & eggs (same as economy), a chia almond bowl. The warmed quiche was quite nice, the olive and eggplant ratatouille also good with lovely tangy flavour (that was cold). The yoghurt was very creamy. Person next to me had the sausage and didn't finish it, it didn't look great. Plane was old and seat damaged, very uncomfortable. Crew of Angel and Vince were wonderful, fantastic service.

25 July QF878 MEL-OOL 1130 departure

Options were a chicken schnitzel & mozzarella toasted sandwich (had some capsicum relish and schnitzel, it was ok, I didn't finish it), a chicken salad (person next to me had that and it looked nice) and I think a curry? Didn't eat the muesli bar, it felt quite hard. Muffin was OK.

27 July QF595 OOL-SYD 1535 departure

Options were beef brisket or a chicken curry. Both my neighbour and I asked for the brisket, unfortunately only one left so I was happy to swap to the curry (could tell my neighbour didn't want to swap, could have been awkward, not a hill I really needed to die on after a wonderful long weekend away!). Chicken very tender, nice flavour, not spicy at all (I'm usually a medium person). Lots of rice, was nice and a bit sticky, didn't finish it and left the beans as they were a bit desiccated). Pepe Sala butter and the bread really good.

27 July QF139 SYD-MEL departed 1855

Wonderful crew of Kerri (FSM) and Gloria, great service, very personable, responsive, and lovely people. Options were chicken miso salad (cold), beef curry, or roast pork. I had the chicken salad. Was a bit bland, chicken a little bit tough. Would have been nicer if it was a little bit warm. The side salad with the balsamic dressing and boccocini was really nice and I enjoyed that. Pepe Sala and sourdough, Koko Black and Maggie Beer ice-cream for the win. Cheese and crackers to finish.

Does anyone happen to have a recent J menu
SIN-Australia? We’re due to fly SIN-SYD next week and given the food in the Qantas Singapore First lounge is essentially inedible to me who can’t eat any seafood, I’m a bit afraid. Is the menu out of SIN more varied? I vaguely remember a charcoaled steak as the only option from years back…

Many thanks! 😬

No recent menu, but there tends to be non-seafood options available on the SIN-SYD menu. One of the options is vegan so that can't have any seafood in it, not even in sauces or seasonings.

Seems one or two plates of the mains are seafood. At least one option is Asian. There's a selection of 3-4 main plates (again, of which one is vegan).

For a non-seafood eater (or allergic to seafood), I'd guess your options are essentially cut in half on board and in the Lounge.

Thank you! Lounge has been even worse than half on my recent two visits with the Qatar lounge usually coming to the rescue with a much more varied menu.

I flew down from singapore a couple weeks ago. I also don’t eat fish or seafood. Didn’t have a problem with the menu… I think there was one fish dish out of the three (or was it four) on offer.

The fish is hugely popular…they’d run out by the time they got to me in row 6… which want a problem :)

When you flying? I've got QF38 Wednesday night, so happy to drop photos prior to take-off if it'll help.

QF103 SYD-HNL. Early evening flight but only Main followed by Cheese or Desert (which was fine having eaten in the F lounge.

Lamb was tender and tasty but lashings of couscous (I couldn’t eat all of it).

Finished with cheese (no photo) but was generous.

Can’t remember all the options for breakfast but this was the French toast.

So for a 9 hour flight in Business QF couldn't stump an entrée? A friend of mine flying out of SFO back to Sydney was hit with this completely underwelming approach to flight catering and decided to construct a three course meal from the menu - starting with the soup, then the vegetarian pasta, then the chicken. When the flight attendant said they didn't cater enough for this, he told them to come back when they know what is left and then just put his main order in. When the flight attendant returned - they were out of the pasta, but had everything else. You shouldn't have to act that a cough to get a decent meal when paying QF prices...

That would have been 4 or even 5 course with cheeses and deserts!

But, yep a bit odd having a “supper service” for an 8:30pm flight. I get it for the 10pm red eyes etc.

Oh thank you! Saturday only so would be great if you could post a picture of the main menu if it’s not too much trouble!

No trouble at all. I'll do it soon as I board tomorrow. :)
