Qantas Business Class meals & menus

QF25 (SYD-HND) last night. I chose the Japanese meal and luckily got the last one (I was in row 5). Had it with some sake.

Everything was very enjoyable; although the main protein was salmon instead of the chicken as stated on the menu.

Service very good on the flight.

But ... Kale? WHY?!?!? :p

BNE-PER.
3 choices Veal Ravioli (pictured), Waldorf Salad and Chicken and Sweetcorn soup.

The Ravioli was popular and had run out half way through row 2.
It was tasty enough but a bit dry as most pasta dishes are when reheated.
The little side salad with grilled halloumi was delicious.
Had Maggie Beer Burnt fig ice cream later on. I love that flavor !!!

Service on board was good, no complaints at all.

Rigatoni option Ex Wellington to Melb today. The catering ex NZ is very good, hard to finish it all; Salmon salad starter, Pasta Mains, Cheese and cracker, Whitaker chocolate and Choc chip cookie, excellent crew made several runs for drinks/ water etc

NZ catering is certainly improving!!

QF 41 and basically the same except coughake mushrooms subbed for pickled radish 😉 and lamb on arrival subbed for chook.

What’s interesting is the suggestion of some sort of dining on demand (as seen on SYD-HND posted above)!

Pics to follow since this is still an A333 with no wifi…😔

Edit: “printed menus” were fresh of the Xerox!

Definitely no dine on demand - it’s just poorly worded.

QF871 MEL-PER THURSDAY JUNE 8 7.55pm A330
hot dish was pork, and I don’t do pig.
Chicken salad and a soup were the other options and I have to say the chicken salad was quite decent.
I had some noodles in the business lounge prior to departure so I wasn’t overly hungry and this was enough.
kinship 2019 Margaret River Cab Sav was lovely and the wonderful crew gave me a bottle to take with me.
Trip was my first time at Optus Stadium. go Tiges.IMG_8498.jpegIMG_8501.jpeg

PER-MEL SUNDAY JUNE 11 10.10am A330 international configuration
Again, pork the hot dish which I wouldn’t touch if I was starving.
other choices were soup and, again, a chicken salad.
the salad was OK, made better with the smoked salmon side.
offer of sour dough bread but didn’t partake.
no wifi on the international configuration but got a nice hour’s sleep after celebrating a Richmond win the night before.
cabin crew amazing.IMG_8532.jpeg

Credaro is a very nice winery, good to see their cabernet is back on the Dom J list. If you're ever in Yallingup, their cellar door is definitely worth a visit.
Glad the Dockers at least gave you a challenge, the once mighty Eagles would have not offered much resistance at all ( 122pt drubbing by the Crows yesterday :( )

Will have to check that winery out. Very nice cab sav.

Yep, certainly nothing like “dine on demand” but oh well.

Arancini with drinks service.
IMG_0657.jpeg

Soup was ok but thinner than I expected.
IMG_0658.jpeg
Beef was horribly overdone…😔

My steak between SYD and JNB was the same, I like medium rare or less, while way overcooked for my liking, it was still tender and moist providing some enjoyment.

I am struggling to find good food (meat dishes) here in Durban- knowing how much the South Africans I know love meat, I was expecting good things.

Hard to beat the “fresh produce” at home! 😉
