Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Best Qantas food experience I've had in a while on my recent Townsville-Brisbane-Canberra run.
Pizza in the Townsville QC -- pretty good pizza, too.
Hot chicken croquettes in Economy on QF755 TSV-BNE
Shepherd's pie with mushy peas in Business QF1909 BNE-CBR
Looking forward to Townsville in July, pizza sounds good, certainly better than recent MEL offerings.

5APR23 QF25 SYD-HND

Went for the ramen which had a massive portion of pork, although it was Cantonese style char siu rather than Japanese style chashu 🤷‍♂️ broth was very light but I didn't mind that for a late night meal.

Crew were great, especially CSM Fleur who was very friendly. Passenger manifest was visible while waiting for front doors to open, cabin was packed with WP/P1/Emeralds.

That soup looks delicious! Now that’s what I call a decent “supper”.

QF9 MEL- PER Sun 2 April 787
Sched 1510 Takeoff 1522

Having been treated to the MEL Flounge and a good slow cooked brisket bookended by the classic S&P squid and pavlova for the first time post Covid, was not enormously hungry boarding this flight. Nonetheless, one cannot say no to a PDB of Jacquard.

For the first time in forever (or at least since the coffee lads were still in the safety video) a printed menu was evident. Very nice to have a full J spread again on this flight back, presumably because it is longer.

Have always wondered how one gets the gig of being a "NP sommelier"
Felt hungry again once the service started, so decided to go for the whole shebang. Great service by CSM Daario and FA Michael.

1680823503838.jpeg
A Glenlivet to open the batting, served with nuts.

1680823684166.jpeg
Very nice having a soup entree again, the parsnip soup hit the spot, lubricated by some more Jacquard.

1680823775523.jpeg
Chicken breast actually very moist and good, accompanied by the more than passable Jim Barry Lodge Hill shiraz.

Cheese platter to finish. All in all a very good flight.

QF36 MEL - SIN APRIL

Started with an arancini and drinks in what seemed like a reasonable time after takeoff which was nice for a change.
Then the soup, nice but not sure the crème fraiche added much.

Next was a beef, flavour okay in the beef but a bit overdone. Veggies were overdone too.

Finally the desert Dark chocolate cream with bits of cake in it - very nice.

Didn’t partake in the pre-landing stuff, had QF F lounge to deal with on arrival in SIN. :)

For the sky spritz does anyone know what the mixer is keen to try it but allergic to tonic water. Thanks
This is the product site - but it’s not tonic

Soup (I think it was chicken but honestly I don't quite recall) on today's MEL-SYD afternoon flight (QF448). Maybe I haven't been paying attention but I don't think I've seen soup offered before in domestic J.

Will be on this flight early June. I don't understand the "full menu after take off or a selection of dishes throughout the flight". Does that mean you can select something off the main menu another time, or are they classing the snacks as "dishes". (The snacks are pretty woeful really; not like JAL where you can order an actual dish - like curry.)

No, Qantas likes to serve all meals after take off and will seldom allow you to have it later when it suits you. The snacks are available at any time during the flight. Yes, just "snacks" and not soup or meals. You can always try asking for soup; it will depend on the FAs on your particular flight.

SYD>MNL (QF19) 8-April

First time flying QF J internationally: usually fly with VA partners. CSM Mark was impeccable and the perfect balance between professional and fun and engaging. Delays out of Syd due to winds dropping operations to a single runway. Captain made several detailed announcements once all onboard, and even came out to the J-cabin to explain the situation in person, which I thought was a great touch. Packets of the chickpeas/fava beans mix handed out while we sat and waited.

To the food:
- same menu as seems to be circling on other Asian routes
- drinks offered pretty quickly once in the air.
- the Sky Spritz is a great start, the arancini not so much (lacked any crispness to the outside crumb)
- the dumplings were kind of lukewarm in temperature, which I wasn’t thrilled about to start, but it actually kind of actually paired great with the cold cucumber salad and I didn’t mind as much. Really tasty dish in my opinion.
- beef was a surprisingly well achieved medium rare, and tasty.
- partner had the chicken and liked it.
- pre-arrival noodles were tasty but I thought the portion sizing was pretty mediocre.
- self-serve pantry of snacks was fully stocked throughout.
- cute box of Koko Black Easter eggs given out as an extra treat pre-arrival

Thanks for the heads up, was thinking that if I got this menu on a SIN flight later this year, I would kick off with the steak and maybe then the chicken kyiv an hour or so later. Seems that this isn't go down well with the FAs.

Most airlines don't allow two meals? My question was more along the lines of whether you can delay it, and why refer to other 'dishes' if they are just the limited snack menu (which has been answered).

Always thought that I main meal was the standard (except for F) but the wording of this menu is a bit ambiguous!
EDIT: Actually this menu was pretty clear that it was only snacks, it was a SYD-HND one from a few days ago the was unclear.
