Qantas Business Class meals & menus

HND > SYD. No food photos as I opted to sleep and was still suffering from some indigestion but heres the menu.

Hope you feel better soon
Thanks, better now, but a bit sad I missed some good food. Especially the ones that my business partners in Tokyo took me out to.

Neil Perry’s spicy lamb noodles were on the F Lounge menu at some point and were delicious. (Not sure if they would taste as good on board, but hopefully they would come close.)

The old F Lounge noodles were good indeed - pic from August 2022

The new in-flight version was different - red sauce instead of coughin. Flavour wasn't bad, but it definitely needed more sauce. Hopefully that was just a Day 1 thing

MEL SYD 737, late afternoon/early evening flight

Steak was the last option left, and it definitely suffered under the reheating, being quite chewy. Vegetables were done nicely. Unfortunately due to a earlier than usual cabin preparation, pax were rushed to complete their meal and no drink service was offered afterwards.

QF35 MEL-SIN 1 April.

The soup and snapper were both excellent, but the noodles served prior to arrival were extremely mushy (fly SQ if you want decent noodles!). Lamb pieces were good though.

QF10 PER-MEL Mar 30 B787

Sched dep 1310, actual pushback 1326, takeoff 1334

First post Covid trip on the dom leg of QF 10. A little late in boarding, but a PDB of Piper Heidsieck champagne offered promptly on sitting down. Very good and friendly service from FAs Lily and Janette.

No printed menu sadly, single course offering only ( though to be fair IIRC this was also the case on QF10 PER-MEL pre covid), had the meatballs, generously lubricated by the aforementioned champagne. Bread basket offered initially but as had already stretched my low carb resolutions with the Dom J lounge pizza, passed on this.

An unexpected cheese platter was offered afterward though, happily washed down with more Piper.

As an aside, it should be noted that all lounge eligible pax who gain access to the PER T3 INT airside when it is configured as such, now get access to the rebranded “QF int lounge”, formerly known as the transit lounge. The lounge itself has a MEL int J lounge-esque dungeon feel to it when the louvres on the alfresco area are closed when rain is forecast like today (this area would be much nicer when the sun is shining), and the “NP signature sausage” was IMO way too dry, the Dom J pizza wins out easily over it. Nonetheless it is fully airside and has a bar open before noon, and as per all the single class QF int lounges, has hidden Champagne (Piper) ostensibly for P1s only, but may be accessible to lowly WPs who ask nicely, as your humble correspondent did today :)

pass on this IMO, wait for pizza o'clock in the dom J lounge before clearing immigration

This area would be wonderful when the sun is shining and the overhead louvres are open. As it happened, PER copped almost 40mm of rain just after we took off, so keeping them shut was prudent!

Thanks for the hint regarding Piper. I will remember next time! I was in the lounge just over a week ago (breakfast time) when flying to Singapore. The louvres were open, so the lounge was filled with natural light. Lovely attendant too.

I avoid QF where I can but yesterday found myself on a couple of sectors including QF529 from BNE to SYD. Credit where credit is due - the flight crew were exceptional, especially the CSM Charles who greeted every passenger by name and a nice to meet you. Plats in the first few rows of Y where also individually greeted in their seats before departure and got a goodbye when the drop was starting. I was impressed. A reminder of the great airline Qantas once was.

Early morning flight - 7.30am departure. QF177 MEL to ZQN in J. Best thing was the apricot pastry on the side. 2 options - leek frittata or this “fancy name” option I didn’t catch the name of. I got one and other half got the other. Believe it or not the business lounge food was better than the flight itself 😂😂😂😂613B81AE-24AB-443C-BE87-7997E4D5FFA7.jpeg

Gosh- why even have two options if they almost look identical, reminds me of the infamous "water or water" that Qantas used to do prior to Domestic flights (though I have to be careful what I wish for as they've now replaced it with a big fat nothing...).

Let's see- some sort of egg cake, disgusting spinach, no less disgusting pale sausages that look suspiciously like "Poultry sausages" that contain "Meat" 🤢 And a tomato sauce. Choice seems to be wither two sausages or one sausage but with bacon and proper baked beans instead just red sauce. Fabulous!

Have had this breakfast/brunch before - pretty sure it's the bubble and squeak. Who knows how the FA named and described it though!

Used to be known as a way to use up leftovers. Says a lot about QF catering. Though to be fair I quite enjoyed the dish as a whole.
