David Crotty will be there to share his expertise :)

I'm tempted just for that. I haven't seen him in such a long time and he's very insightful.

I may craft a response before tomorrow afternoon, there seems like there's some availability for me to fly down that morning and back that evening.

If possible to reply before I enter, what is the approximate start and end time? Thanks.

Pity it wasn't the 10 August or it would be worth a day trip to Sydney for it.

Wednesday 10 August is Brisbane Show Day Holiday (Ekka)

Dang, just saw this, but night shift that night. :P

Did these tours used to be common place, I remember visiting the jetbase and looking at engine and component maintenance and all sorts of interesting things in hangers and sheds back in 1980's. I guess it just became a money thing that couldn't show a return once QF was privatised in the early 1990's and like all such things ceased.

Matt

Would have been nice of Red Roo to announce that winners had been selected and thanks to all that entered.

Good luck to all that secured a spot and have a fab day but don't forget lots of pics please :D

The tour was fantastic - a very big thanks to Qantas for this wonderful opportunity. All aspects of the tour were fantastic and the effort that Qantas put into the planning made for a very smooth operation. A very special thanks Leah, David and the whole accompanying Qantas team, the A380 Engineering folk, and also a special thanks to and mention of the volunteers at the Engineering Museum.

I'll let the tech savvy folk upload the photos and the other attendees write further of the actual experiences - needless to say, those of us who attended are extremely privileged.

The picture QF put on instagram made it look like a lovely day. I'd imagine walking under an A380 would be a once in a lifetime experience for those who don't work in aviation!

Saw some photos on Facebook, the museum looked like the part I would have liked the most. I'll have to try get myself there some other way.

I hope someone passed on my regards to David! :p

Let me see if I can load up a few pics! For those of you on instagram - some photos of the day can be seen by searching the hashtag #qfbelowthewing - Rachel Bacon (QF engineer) posted some great ones.

Here are a few of mine.
