Still expensive after the changes.

Is it about $100 less for every $400 of surcharge or do I have that wrong?

For W/J/F the changes haven't even taken effect yet.
I'm struggling to understand why these fuel surcharges are that high. I have lost interest in accumulating QFF points and trying to bring my balance down as devaluation is inevitable.

Wasn't that devaluation for premium cabins only?We just had a devaluation! So hopefully another 24 months before anything new
Yes, some surcharges for ex Oz economy redemption bookings were reduced. In fact QF's economy YQ is less than VA's in transapacific economy.Wasn't that devaluation for premium cabins only?
There was supposed to be mainly good news for economy award flights with reduction in points and relaxing some fuel surcharges.
I’m cutting qantas loose as they are not to be trusted. Their arrogance and incompetence will be their undoing. I’ve switched my earning to flybuys and velocity.Wasn't that devaluation for premium cabins only?

@serfty there's still no real explanation why fuel surcharges for a simple ATH-DXB-BNE economy award are so high but then reduce by more than half after adding a short sector at the beginning.
I wonder if possible to get the fuel surcharge down further with a sector commencing elsewhere.
