First the “Flight to Nowhere” – now Qantas Announces “Scenic Flight to Somewhere”!

From Scenic Flight Experience - Uluru | Qantas

Qantas will operate a series of scenic getaway flights landing at some of Australia’s key holiday destinations following the success of its recent 7-hour aerial tourism flight while many border restrictions were still in place.

The first of the Scenic Flight Getaways will take 110 passengers on board a Qantas 737 from Sydney to Uluru to experience one of the country’s most culturally significant sites.

Any word on the SC earn or the solo traveller price? The $2499 seems to be based on twin share accom.

Tempted but might not bite at that price.

Business Class $3,999 per person (twin share accommodation) Earn 10,000 Qantas Points plus 160 Status Credits.

Economy Class $2,499 per person (twin share accommodation) Earn 5,000 Qantas Points plus 80 Status Credits.

There is a $250 solo traveller surcharge

Great tip - thanks. Just re-read the article re the SCs, missed it in my flurry!

Sounds like QF are onto a way of making up some lost income.

Retail rates:
Accommodation - ~ $290 pp twin share
Field of light dinner - ~ $275
Sunrise tour Uluru/Kata Tjuta - ~ $170 pp
Art workshop ~ $75

And I'm sure they wouldn't be paying retail rates for the ground content.

So the economy flights are $1689 return, business class then $3189. I know the alternative is Jetstar flights!

I just had a look and there are only 3 seats left in Y for this flight. It's almost sold out in an afternoon.

Shows how many people covertly "love" Qantas and will pay good money to fly them, even though publicly everyone says they "hate" Qantas.
Waiting for them to pick ADL - somewhere for a mystery flight, hint Qantas, wink wink, how about an ADL flight to nowhere in particular?

Is it “love”, habit, no real domestic competition, longevity, or something else?

I personally have Qantas at a similar level (of hate) to Telstra but I fly Qantas and haven’t had a Telstra product for over 20 years

Are they planning on doing Sydney Harbour flybys for "cheap" to turn the engines over?

I saw this aircraft turning over Concord on Wednesday evening and was curious what was happening... ended up tracking it:
