i dont think partners are included. just go to a qantas travel shop centre and buy the toy leggo plane for $10.95 and then you will get your 2.5k points like i did.

Have just been credited my first 7500 points and am looking to get the last 2500 for the 'first qantas spend'.
Couldn't see a lego toy for $10.95, although there is a lego plane for $17.99, which I presume will be enough for the 2.5k?
Also noticed a $6.95 toy glider plane, would that do the job if I buy it on my Qantas Amex?

They seem to have blocked the Amex on the Qantas shop, last time I tried there was an error saying that they only accept Visa and MasterCard :(

OK - any good ideas out there about how to secure those last 2.5k points without booking a flight or spending a fortune?

Just wondering if anyone has tried buying a car on this card.

I remember reading another thread about buying a car on another AMEX (and a few comments on Visa) too.

First time poster! I'm wondering if it's possible to get those bonus points by booking a fully refundable fare with Qantas, then waiting till the points are credited by AMEX to my QFF points balance, then cancelling the fare booking for a refund? Or is this too good to be true?

Or, taking it a level further, how about if I redeemed the points before cancelling the fare booking for a refund?

Thanks for your thoughts on both of these!

Honestly, I haven't tried but I suspect there's a risk that the 2,500 points would be taken back off you eventually. I understand the temptation, but wouldn't it be less hassle just to buy 500 points for $20? Or buy a voucher for $50 if you plan to fly QF in the next 12 months - I'm assuming you'll fly QF given you're chasing the QFF points (being mindful that if you buy the voucher for e.g. one person that you will be restricted to booking for one person only using the voucher).

Welcome as well :)
