Qantas adds Brisbane-Manila but suspends Sydney-Shanghai flights

And the J seats are covered in leather, instead of cloth.
But you still get seat protector

Leather probably easier to clean on domestic flights for them

It is the same on the SYD-MNL flights. Causes chaos on the overnight return flight with pax changing in/out of PJs.
Maybe they should give to them at check in so they change in the lounge

I noticed there are hardly any seats in April or May 2026 for Brisbane to Manila, are these likely to have sold out already, or still to be released by Qantas down the track?

are you talking redemption seats or commercial $$ purchase? how many seats are you looking for? you can only search online for maximum of 9.

Any Singapore slots that could be used for daytime QF flights SIN-SYD/MEL/BNE ?
One iteration of QF32 used to be a “day flight” SIN-SYD.

No idea if that slot still exists but who also knows what happens with all those 3K slots?

Singapore isn't hugely slot constrained, at least not anymore. While it does require coordination, especially around certain peak times and terminal/gate availability, slots certainly aren't their constraint. Also, 3K's slots aren't directly transferable and they'll just go back in the pool.

Same for MNL, not sure they can simply transfer 3K's slots to themselves. They'll just go back into the pool for reallocation under normal rules. Even if they could, 3K's evening arrival/departure that they might want would require a 45 minute turnaround, which ain't happening on a A330!

Now that the Qantas Group are closing their Jetstar Asia base in SIN, I wonder if QF are looking amongst the 3K MNL slots for more ideal times on their BNE-MNL services.
SQ says they're adding a 5th daily flight to MNL. I wonder where they're getting the slot from.

Where everyone else gets them, the slot pool ... it's not LHR, there are slots available and slots do become available over time. They are scarce and you can't always get what you want when you want, but airlines apply and get.
