Qantas A380 reliability issues creeping up again?

Qantas app shows I'll be on this plane for what seems to be the first passenger flight for its return to service. Fingers crossed there are no teething issues.

OQK had door issues on the upper deck when on operating QF12 15/7. Some of those in business were operationally downgraded due to the inability to operate the slide on the upper left door in an emergency.

Well, it was nice having all 10 A380s back for a day and a half… OQJ is now enroute to Dresden.

I think originally the aim was to have them all working over the Aussie summer holidays and then one would be in for a service so that every year 3 or 4 planes will have had a heavy check every year .
With VH OQC back this plan may have changed

Qf64 on Monday was cancelled 2 days running. New aircraft just arrived and has taken Monday’s QF64 pax (as Qf7064) and now the QF64 Wednesday evening service has just been cancelled. Due to a front wheel/steering issue im told. Don’t know affected aircraft rego, but one of the older by the sounds/looks of it . QF7 was cancelled yesterday presumably as flow on effect.

Had a family member on this flight, just arrived home on OQL. Told me on landing captain told pax they will all receive a full refund for the JNB SYD leg which was cancelled twice and arrived 2.5 days late. OQB still grounded and now OQD is currently enroute to JNB as QF6004, presumably to collect QF64 pax from last nights cancelled service.

In these circumstances, why doesn't QF give the option of an Uber voucher or Sydney Airport train voucher, the latter having preloading of the minimum A$35 requirement for using the Sydney Airport railway station?

Using rail is more environmentally friendly (and often faster) than using what can be a single passenger occupant in a car.

Using rail is more environmentally friendly (and often faster) than using what can be a single passenger occupant in a car.

They're partnered with Uber and it's very easy to generate and distribute one time links for vouchers than doing the same for the train. The reach for Uber is greater than the train too, pax could be unhappy because their train ticket only gets them 80% of the way and they need something else for the last mile - don't get that with Uber vouchers.
FWIW I use the train when landing in SYD but I'm only going to the CBD not the 'burbs...

In this article there’s a customer advocating for EU261-style compensation, but wouldn’t the refund of a fare from JNB to SYD be pretty close to €600/$900 anyway?
Not to excuse the situation, and questions about who paid for accommodation/transfers seem to be absent from any reporting I’ve seen.
