Forget the interior design, those Y seats look stylish and serviceable, but look as hard as a rock. No sure how comfy they will be after 14hrs.
I find it difficult to judge seat hardness from a picture.
And no moveable arm rest, so when the loading is light, no more lying across 3-4 seats...
How is this any different from current 747 seats in the bulk-head rows where the IFE screens and tray tables are stowed in the arm rests. From the pictures I am unable to draw a conclusion as to whether the arm rests in non-bulkhead rows are immovable or not. Assuming the IFE screens and tray tables are mounted on the back of the seat in front, there i no need for arm rests to be fixed for non-bulkhead rows.

Hmmm, thin cushions, slim seats (ie: no or little springs). Thats what they LOOK like, I too, do not for sure, and like others I am merely speculating on what I can see from the photo's.

You are quite correct, I looked at the armrests and assumed they were like that all the way through. You know what they say about cough u me ing..:D:oops:

Not sure I have sat in an airline seat with springs inside for quite some time (if ever). Thsy usually use high-density foam cushioning, which tends to be lighter than springs. Thick cushioning means less personal space between seats at the same pitch. So I prefer a cabin using slimline seats when travelling in economy - gives me more knee space between me and seat in front.

Has anyone sat on the demo seats that were on display in the SYD T3 museum?

Absolutely
