Hi All,

I am travelling from Per - Syd (return) in Jan 2017 in Business class with my wife and child. My question is, what would be the best seats to choose to travel together (as much as possible)? I know the new business class seats have a barrier between the middle seats and are staggered.
Any ideas from seasoned travellers would be appreciated.
P.S. If your are going to cough about me having my child in Business, keep your comments to yourself.

Cheers

Welcome, Shelbygt81.

May I suggest your first post will possibly not endear yourself to many. First, this isn't FlyerTalk. Second, I suspect you will find multiple threads on seating. You may wish to start with this one (probably starting from the end).

Hate when there's noisy kids in business class.

Actually, I may comment as I please, within forum rules, thanks very much.

Oh, and welcome to AFF, as of Nov 2012.

We are a very helpful lot and don't mind helping anyone who have problems, questions. Its all in the way we are approached. Respect is through a 2 way door.

Three seats or two? i.e. Does your son/daughter have their own seat? The privacy divider in the middle seats doesn't slide down so it's not ideal for conversing with your partner. I'd go with seats 4E 4F and 3K, assuming the child is old enough to have their own seat. 4F and 3K are able to (sort of) chat comfortably across the aisle.

Howdy. I would try for the 'pairings' of, 2EF with 1J or 4EF with 3J or 6EF with 5J. If you look at the seat map (Qantas.com), you will see that the F and J seats have the best access/view to each other as they only have the armrests (and aisle) between them. I would seat your little one in the F seat, so there is still one of you 'either side', so whoever is in the J seat has the best access, and whoever is in the E seat still can 'peek' over/around the partition to check on the little one ;) Enjoy your flight :) (and ignore the 'children' on here ;))

Thanks Orca and Under The Radar for your help. As the other children didn't provide any constructive information I researched through other means and came up with the same info you guys provided.

No worries at all. Hope you all have a great flight

We all like to have a little laugh from time to time about children in the premium cabins, and other nontrivial business. However, if you comment along the lines of members "coughing about a child in business class", don't be surprised when you receive smart cough responses to your question. For the vast majority of the community, it's not important.

It would certainly seem like the OP's post was intended to rile members up, rather than seek an answer to a specific question. If that's not the case, not adding inflammatory comments to the end of posts in the future may help.

Future posts on the topic (best seats in A330 business for a family of 3) would be appropriate.

I have removed the majority of posts from this thread as they were either attacking, irrelevant or off topic.
Let us stick to the topic as we move forward.

Well said Mods. As the OP got suitable answers and replies from Orca and Under the radar ( thank you ) and some research of his/her own, this entire thread should be locked and sealed.

Lets get one thing clear. My post was not meant to rile people up. Yes, it probably didn't need to have "coughing about a child in business class" put in the post but I have experienced this sort of behaviour (on a flight) before and was simply letting people know I was not going to put up with any of these sorts of comments. As it turned out there were a couple of members who took it upon themselves to negatively comment and start the reply's I gave back. If they didn't like the O/P then they should have reported it to the moderators.

Just remember, "what's good for the geese, is good for the gander".
