Qantas A321XLR no lie flat International has begun

They also have four class planes plying the transcon skies. That leave QF and VA for dead.

As for the US in general, there’s actually so much to see and do.
To be fair those are on some of the richest city pairs in the world and there's significant competition on the route as well as widebodies on the route as well as single aisle.

Actually, on the BNE-MNL route, Phillipine are also flying A321's and they are not lie flat either. I'll dble check SYD-MNL, last I looked they were A321 as well.

Normally, what you suggest is not true.

The PR aircraft used between MNL and BNE have 12 J seats in a 2-2 configuration and are lie flat.

I used a flight from BKK to MNL (c.3.5 hours) and found the seat (and briefly, bed) perfectly acceptable, although passengers in a window seat have to negotiate their way 'around' the occupant of the aisle seat, so it isn't as good as 1-2-1 on some of PR's A333s, and all its A359s.

Yes when you just compare QF domestic recliners with similar length flights on BA or LH Eurobusiness I know which I would prefer for seating.

But QF need to lift their game on catering and other areas.
True. But also I think you forget one important issue...PRICE! 😉

coal fired B757s
What? They are pocket rockets ...excellent aircraft. Know a pilot who even to this day calls it probably the best aircraft to fly and still the best narrow body...gotta luv a 757. 😁

Flying one and flying in one are quite different things! 😁

It’s funny all the angst over soon to be medium haul flights on the A321XLRs. The US has had that with 757s for ~30 years! Fortunately, QF never found a use for them.🤷‍♂️

You mean "unfortunately"...😉

BA’s “Club Europe” was a great SC earner too with fairly cheap cash upgrade offers.

Unfortunately QF put an end to it a little while ago and now only credit the Y SC’s
Not sure it was QF? I thought BA changed the fare code for those upgrades to “U” so they fell into the bit bucket at the QF end?

Initially, peeps weren’t even getting the whY points and SCs because flights were coming across as non-earning “Classic Reward” flights.

There’s another thread here somewhere.
