I apologise if this has already been covered. I haven't been able to find it elsewhere.

I am struggling to find a way to accept the QANTAS $50 'gift' because it's only given if you access via the QANTAS app. I deleted all apps after a security breach and my info was hacked .

There's a phone number listed if you are having trouble but I gave up hanging on waiting, waiting, waiting ..........

Has anyone found an alternate way to claim their $50????

I guess too, I'm thinking, what about all those who don't have apps on their phones, the elderly etc;

Thanks,

Thanks for replying.

We tried that and there's no provision to do so that we could find.
You may need to call:

  • Can the Qantas Service Centre help me accept my promo code?

We’re here to help. If you have followed the steps above and are still unable to claim your promo code, please call our Contact Centre on 13 13 13 or 0800 808 767 if you are in New Zealand.

Thanks for replying we have tried ringing several times and wait and wait and wait ......... still waiting.

Am curious though. Why would QANTAS only make this available through their app and not through web based log in?

I suppose it drives KPIs in terms of the number of app downloads maybe ?

Similar issue with the vaccination award as I recall.

They just discriminate against different users, and want to get people using the app. Which isn't actually justification, any more than it was when they wanted people to do things online so didn't have good telephone backup. Note the 'majority' of users do use things on apps, so they are catering for the majority. But it's still poor operating procedure... which is far from unique for Qantas.

Totally agree with you.

With web browser you can control to some extent what information Qantas collects "on the quiet" during use such as tracking information, device type, location etc..

No such pesky issues with the app, there is no control by the user - accept their collection and use of information or don't use the app.

Any chance someone can point me in the direction on the website of where I can book [lounge] entry as the $50 is useless to me apart from that. Thx :)

Sorry !
I need to repost with better language

"I tried to use my "gift at SYD on Saturday to buy entry to the lounge. The gatekeeper said, yes, this is acceptable, but only if "booked 24 hours earlier" !!

"its in the T&Cs" she said
