QAN Emissions Offset Unauthorised

[Broddo]

I made a return domestic Points booking today. Afterwards I noticed I have been charged for Emissions Offset on both legs: A total of 3060 points which I had never authorised.
I later went back in to see how it could have occurred but I couldn't find any box to authorise such a charge.
Has this happened to any other QAN FF
How to complain about this?

There is the option to request carbon offset for flights in your trip list using points but it would be unusual to be charged after you had flown. They usually get processed immediately and there ought to have been an email confirmation as such.

I did have one request for a recent flight* that never went through. Just sat there as “requested” (or something like that). But after I flew that flight, I wasn’t charged.

Are there any annotations in the points deduction matching the PNR or route flown?

Hi Syd,
I just made the booking yesterday for next March. I didn't knowingly click any box requesting the carbon offset and as I mentioned I went back in to do another dummy booking & couldn't find that option or how I may have inadvertedly clicked that.
I have received an email for my carbon credit tax invoice.
That is how I realised I had been deducted the points.
