I'm about to book a RTW using QFF. Route is syd-tokyo-helsinki-prague-london-LA-HK-Syd. ( HK is transit).
It's Finnair from Tokyo to Helsinki but we are actually going to TALLIN which is serviced by Finnair and there are connecting flights. We aren't staying in Helsinki so it would only be a transit. BUT can't select Tallinn on the QFF website. If I book as above then contact qantas to get tallinn added I'll probably be up for asssited booking pts fee /change booking pts fee etc etc. Does anyone know how to work around this?

As there are 3 of us travelling, all on pts, the cost of using Qantas consultant adds quite a bit and I don't have enough pts to do that.

Calling Dave Noble and NM.

Dave Noble has had the experience of booking cities not showing on the drop down box on the QF site.

NM has been to Talinn, so he'd be great to give you the right information about the city, etc.

Hi thanks.
We've been to Tallinn a couple of times so that part is OK.

The AY flights between HEL and TLL are operated by EE (Aero Airlines A.S.) and as such not OneWorld flights so are not eligible for QFF rewards. There are also helicopter services between the two locations. I used the ferry (hydrofoil), but that would require a taxi transfer from HEL airport to the ferry terminal near the city.

OK thanks that's good to know. Won't waste booking points in that case.
Ferries aren't running on Christmas day unfortunately so we will have to go the next day anyway.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Brrrr ... Christmas in HEL! That is about the time when HEL freezes over . The Helicopter service is probably running on Christmas day if you really want to travel that day.

There are lots of good accommodation options in down-town Helsinki that are within walking distance of the ferry terminal. However, when its 15 below zero I am not sure I would be walking and toting luggage along with me .

I have stayed a few times at the Scandic Grand Marina on the opposite side of the harbour. Its a 15 min walk around to the ferry terminal when the weather is nice.
