So that DYKWIA's can put them on their carry ons and walk through the airport and onboard so everyone can see how important they are with their Gold status....

I proudly have my PS (QF and VA) tags on my carry on bag as sometimes it gets checked. However the real reason is that it most likely annoys some of the DYKWIA types when I line up in the priority lanes at security and boarding.

I feel a bit sad that these days now my hair is more grey people don't question me being in priority lines or premium cabins. I kind of miss the old days of looking much younger and having the odd agent try to tell me where the Y line was....

We only just took an old Gold FF tag off one of our bags as it had cracked so was in danger of coming apart.

I made WP for the first time and received the ones with the red roo on dark background today. Very happy to get these and not the boring ones that just say qantas like my gold ones.

So new member kits have the new design and requal or requested additional tags have the old one.
Probably just using up old surplus on existing members.
Lets hope by next year they have used that all up.

The newer one is the one with the Roo. The old style have Qantas written on the front.
I’d say they are just getting rid of all the remaining old stock.

Can I just ask for new ones for free? I’ve been gold for almost 15 years, never upgraded or downgraded though.

After so many years SG, finally made WP, and got the new design. Looks stylish with the red roo on black, but i still firmly stand by my opinion that the weight, size, shape, are completely OTT. It is like strapping to your bags those flashing buzzers you get at food halls

Yes, you can request a new set every year. They arent sent automatically. You need to just call and request and they will send you two new ones no questions asked. Its an unpublished benefit that you're entitled to.
