Putting members on ignore - do threads they have started not appear

For the majority I wouldn't dispute that, however there's the odd person who talks and posts utter ****e. I will happily stick these people on my blocklist as I have neither the time or patience to argue with the stupid and dense - if only to avoid being dragged down to their level.

I've ever only put two people on ignore, one of them has since been released from their super-secret double probation*.

* free drink when I meet you next to whomever gets the reference.

I've only ever put simongr on ignore to see what this thread looks like

I have never felt the need to put someone on ignore but I am certain I am on some people ignore lists.

Who remembers rodgerbranch? The one and only poster I've ever put on the 'ignore' list.

unfortunately I have no plans to update it, yet. And it was last updated about 3 years ago.

At times since being a Mod, I would have loved to have put members on my Ignore list. But that would fly in the face of moderation

I've only ever heard someone say that one other time. That was a guy at Uni who was doing some 2nd and 3rd year subjects for about the 4th time. I think his name was Kevin, he's probably earning a millions dollars a year now instead of being a scientist.

vBulletin is likely configured so that you can't ignore the mods (or admin) even if you wanted to

It's a pity that ignore doesn't hide the posts entirely. It's a lot more peaceful since I decided to use the ignore function, but it would be even better to not see that the ignored person has posted at all ... just saying.

You can only ignore a member using the web interface: Click the members username > Select view profile > Add to ignore list (from left hand menu).
