Hi
Quick question on how the forum works. If you put someone on ignore I know that their posts show in a thread but are obscured. However if an ignored member starts a thread or replies to a thread does the thread appear in the new posts search?
Cheers
S

That answers the question of whether threads started by ignored users appear in new posts ;)

Ooooh. I've not hit ignore on anyone. Now curious as to who has rubbed Simon the wrong way :)

I know someone who rubbed him the wrong way.

Who remembers rodgerbranch? The one and only poster I've ever put on the 'ignore' list.

Oh I remember that name!! From the infamous amex saga of 2008!!

Do you see my threads? since I've deserved to be ignored by you at some stage

Was that 2008? Where have the last few years gone.

Easy way to test this. Just put everyone on your ignore list. If you don't see any new threads, then the answer is no. Easy :p

I might have to go and search for this Rodger fellow to see what all the fuss was about... :D

Information not available as you have this person on ignore.

I am sure that was a valuable question.

In all seriousness though I don't want to miss out on people's posts that I do have an interest in because I am ignoring someone else.

Yes I could practice self restraint and not feed the people I feel are trolling but I also don't want the site to perpetuate some of the anger recently so taking my angst out of the mix might help and people might just get bored.

I don't know how to ignore posts
I love fast scrolling on my iPhone if there are threads with posts I'd rather not read.

Fair enough then. Totally expected.

Very fair point; Everyone has valuable information, no matter how much one might loathe their other views. Hence I have only ever ignored one person. Read their posts occasionally and got good info, but kept them on ignore.

For the majority I wouldn't dispute that, however there's the odd person who talks and posts utter ****e. I will happily stick these people on my blocklist as I have neither the time or patience to argue with the stupid and dense - if only to avoid being dragged down to their level.

I've ever only put two people on ignore, one of them has since been released from their super-secret double probation*.

* free drink when I meet you next to whomever gets the reference.
