No, Android; but it is an LG phone and has never seemed to have the full range of options/functionality. Appears to be some sort of Android Lite.

I'll be staying overnight in MEL tomorrow between flights. I was thinking to stay in the city, but really couldn't face the hassle using MyKi on the bus and train (and wasn't fussed about using SkyBus again). I do have a MyKi card, but have never used it. I've previously lived in Melbourne for a year and never used a bus there, so it would've been somewhat of a novelty.

I'll just have to leave that as a future treat, as I've booked a hotel at the airport for my overnight stay.

For reference, trams are free in the CBD so i never take the bus around the CBD. Skybus being a separate thing means that it's not too bad getting around the CBD without a myki.

Near the extra ABF Tax Payable area, T2 downstairs, near the loos, on the ground floor.
Inside the terminal.
But you can use a debit card I think now, turns out not all buses accept the bank card system as yet.
There are no Myki machines at the 478/479/901 transport hub.
None of the newsagents sell it either, at the airport.

For Clifford, you can if your phone does NFC, can read the bal on your Myki card.
They do expire every 4 years.
If you are a Gold Pensioner Myki card holder, then part of the days fares are less.

Up to a few months ago, the T2 myki machines were still there.
At T3, after they joined the T3 and T4 dom sec screening, the myki machine there was moved.
None at QF T1 tho.

Oh, Clifford, I meant to ask, did you ever try that odyssey of walking from LST airport to Breadalbane, or in the end you decided to get a rental car from the airport.
I see the 3 buses that pass Breadalbane, are all from quite far off, and they do not make a stop at the "bus stop" regularly.
Had a look at google maps, they seemed to be doing works on that area when the photos were taken.

Well Poochie, today was the day I needed to get from LST to Launceston. I had decided that the bast way was to rent a car, as the cost was not much more than using Uber or a taxi. Driving along Evandale Rd to Breadalbane, I did notice that the paved bike track seemed quite suitable for walking. but on this occasion I wimped out, I'm afraid. and in any case, the weather wasn't that great.

I think I've mentioned it before, if you want to avoid purchasing a Myki and your travel in Melbourne will last longer than 2 hours, you can get a ticket from Vline (for example Beaufort to Melbourne on first train of the day). It will be cost $11 and can be purchased using credit cards online. This can be printed as pdf, stored electronically as pdf or added to e-wallet as a QR code that looks like the below. It is will be valid for all day in Melbourne Zone 1 & 2 (I think from the time the scheduled train arrives in MEL).

I haven't been to Melbourne for a couple of years now - I imagine this works well for proof of eligibility to travel (if confronted by an inspector), but what's the process for gated stations?

EDIT: Forgot to say thanks for an out-of-the-box idea! Might be helpful next time I'm in Melbourne for a short stay.

Probably 10min, basically walk almost all the way to the T4 entrance, then cross the road into the bus station and then walk around to the farthest corner.

It is approx. 800 metres from T1 to the Bus stop.

Many gated stations have an open gate which you can pass through along with the fare evaders.

If not, show a staff member who will let you out. The third option is tailgating, rare, but I think I had to do that once at Footscray (where I was connecting between Vline trains and trying to get an earlier connection so in a hurry).

Interesting; on the website it says:

Interstate and international seniors​

You are not eligible for a Seniors Concession myki if you have a:

• Seniors card from another state or country
• Seniors Business Discount Card.

Interstate and international seniors can travel with a general Concession myki for a 50 per cent discount.

So initially it says that interstate senior's cards are not eligible for a Seniors Concession Myki and in the next paragraph it says that interstate seniors can travel with a general concession myki. I'm missing something here; are these two separate mykis with the same discount rate and where do you get the "general concession" myki?

The Senior myki gets extra benefits - such as free weekend travel - that are it would seem not offered to interstate and international visitors. So yes it seems there are different types of concession mykis.
