Anyone ever had problems redeeming vouchers online:

1) Error about not being able to redeem online, and to call Qantas Sales. Downside is that doing it over the phone would result in a fee, which is not acceptable to me; or

2) Can get to the search page, but just keeps giving the search page in a never ending circle.

Anyone had these problems before?

I recently had problems with redeeming a voucher online; however, I was subsequently able to make the booking through an agent without incurring the usual fee. Apparently there are "known problems" with booking using vouchers which are yet to be fixed.

No trouble so far, but the first one I redeemed for travel to the USA Midwest in November has yet to be ticketed, nor has the additional $1.5k been charged to my CC - this after two schedule changes requiring operator intervention and three months since I first selected seating.

I was able to redeem another for 2013 ...

Posted on a wing and a prayer ...

I've recently redeemed a gift voucher over the phone because the online system wasn't able to make a multi-city booking. They said that since there was already a booking reference, no booking fee would be charged (only when I asked about a fee).
This was the WP desk which may have influenced it though.
It was ticketed within a day and took another week or two before it was charged to my CC...

You are not supposed to be able to redeem these for multi-city bookings ... :p

Flights

Gift Vouchers for flights are available from A$50 to A$500 in A$50 denominations, and can be redeemed for adult base fares (excluding taxes, fees and carrier charges) of one-way or return Qantas domestic flights or Qantas international flights departing Australia. Note Gift Vouchers cannot be used for multi-city bookings.

I had sent some feedback, but when the little 'Hurry' thing started flashing on the flight I wanted, I rang sales.

They were able to replicate the issue, so they booked it for me, and waived the service centre fee.

They won't charge to use vouchers. And if you make a mistake they may even let you change flights without a fee! ;)

One of mine had this issue. Called customer service and there was some anomaly with the voucher created and it was fixed eventually.

The one I get most often is the voucher is not valid. This message may appear a few times but I just keep persevering until I can use the voucher.

I also have a booking for a couple of months time that I can see in my bookings but the credit card has not been charged. Haven't decided yet on whether to call or not. Damned if you do damned if you don't but need to leave it as late as possible without losing my flights. ;)

Thanks for the reminder Mark, I had a voucher to use but I had problems using it when I looked about 1 month ago. I had added my name in 2 separate fields, so when I chose a flight it only allowed to book 2 seats on the same flight.

When I saw you had an error I thought I would try again, I got some weird error, so I phoned Qantas with a flight I wanted in mind, and they were able to split the $100 into 2 ($50) bookings, exactly what I wanted in the beginning.

The credit will be used for a little gathering I read about that is occurring Melbourne in December.

Tried to buy a gift voucher to avoid the cc fee.

24 hours and 2 calls to the service centre later, the voucher is finally good to go! Lucky I wasn't trying to make an urgent booking.

Same problem yesterday Anna.
1st call in the morning, advised voucher hadn't been
ticketed. Rang back in the evening, 25 minutes
hanging on the phone, voucher finally emailed.
