Question for Admin please - what has recently changed in your system that now makes my iPhone default to this mobile interface below every time I open AFF whereas up until 3 weeks or so ago it always immediately opened full site?

I do do not have the App installed at all - every time I want to access AFF full site now on iPhone I have to log back in every time - serious PITA.

Now I did have a number of technological bohemoths look at this problem last night but no solution found.

Oh ye of little faith ...

When you get that just select "new posts" ...

In fact i suspect your device is back in the mode you wanted by now.

Re: New iOS and Android Apps - Bug Reports and Suggestions

Nope not back - still same as I showed you last night - deleted the saved bookmark - logged into full site - created new bookmark - turned off phone - turned on phone - opened Safari - selected newly created bookmark - still reverts to the same unwanted page.

Re: New iOS and Android Apps - Bug Reports and Suggestions

... sadly you are using an apple device ... so none of the useful techniques I have are available ...

go back to post #327 ... what happens if you select "Full Site"?

When I select full site the full site opens but I have to input Username / Password every time - PITA -

Nope never tried - but this has only just started happening 2-3 weeks ago - something has changed somewhere and I really don't think it's on my end.

Sure but you are intrinsically hobbled using safari. ..

The above quotes illustrate my point. Seriously the App is a basket case for those using iOS on mobile devices. Not mincing my words here but that's pretty much where it's at.

I would hazard a guess that there is a far greater proportion of users on iOS/iPhone than say people accessing the NoNews website.
The long standing failure to address the issues that those users face is detrimental to AFF. It needs to be sorted and sorted quickly.

That whole quoted exchange really has no specific relevance to the new App - (CE has never used the app); it's to do with the web browser interface and apparent changes to it regarding device profile/settings. I will split that out to a new thread lest further confusion occur.

Thanks serfty
My opinion remains though regardless of any incorrect quoting I'm guilty of.
The app is a basket case for iOS mobile users
