Using Qantas Reward Search for Seats Over a Year Out

I am trying to book OWA flights to travel around the world commencing in May of next year (2026) and finishing in May 2027. However when I try and use the Qantas search engine to check flight availability I am only able to check out to July 2026. Am I limited as to how far out I can book eg. search out to July next year or am not going about this the right way?

This isnt just limited to Qantas but theres almost no airline that uploads flights and tickets beyond 12 months.

With Qantas awards specifically, for QF flights the earliest you can see them is 353 days (Gold and above), 323 Days for Silver and 297 for bronze. With partner flights via Qantas you can see them up to 363 days dependant on when the partner releases awards.

So, if I want to use 318,000 points (as is currently the case 318,000 to fly around the world with five stopover cities the only I can make the bookings is for flights in the next 12 months?

Yes, and add the extra flights to the booking as they are released (5k pts change fee pp each call - cant do online after the first booking)

That is one option but there are other ways.

What a lot of us do is book the available flights first then as the timing and new flights open up we call up to add to it. You will trigger a 5000 pt change fee maybe once or twice more but still worth it.

Some airlines like AA & AS are only up to 330 days out (SABRE)

and some are more than QF (~360d) but can be seen via the multi-city search (eg JL, CX, MH…).
