Just enquiring to see if anyone has purchased a priority pass and what experiences the have had with them?

It's a bit hit and miss. The majority of the Priority Pass lounges that I've been in have been duds, with the exception of the one in Heathrow (which was actually pretty good!)

I've used Cairns a few times. Small but better than using the one and only expensive cafe in the internation airport airside
.

I also had priority pass several years ago, like @karitas I also found the lounges to vary from absolutely fantastic to a waste of time. You have lounges like the No.1 lounge that I think Karitas is alluding to, which is fanatic, the ones in Singapore are reasonable, but then you get these lounges which are a single windowless room with some stale sandwiches, uncomfortable seats, dirty tables and a few old magazines.

I have Priority Pass via my Amex Plat Charge. It's been brilliant to have in Europe when flying on an airline or from an airport with no lounge access.

Depends very much on your travel plans.

Hi Brendan,

My first post here after a long time lurking...

Recently used Priority Pass at Hong Kong after 3 hours of walking and sweating in the city during a lay-over. Paid ~$25 for a shower - heaven! Food & beverage were totally acceptable, fresh and light. Pleasant surrounds with good runway views.

Cheers,

M.

If you'll be doing a fair bit of international flying - but not enough to qualify for any airline status - it could be worth it.

However the lack of Priority Pass lounges in Australia means the program has little value for an Australian domestic flyer. In this case, you'd be better off getting a Qantas or Virgin lounge membership.

We have Priority Pass as a perk with our Amex. . Have used it in DBX, HNL, VCE, and LAX and have been satisfied with all the lounges, but we're probably easy to please and we travel almost exclusively internationally so the lack of domestic lounges in Aus is not an issue for us. I'm not sure that we'd pay to buy membership though?

Sitting in Sydney when I searched on PP app for nearest lounge, result was ZQN!

Haha. Well, Queenstown is 15 miles closer to Sydney than the next closest lounge - Cairns.

Says a lot about the usefulness (or lack of) of Priority Pass for domestic Aussie flyers.

Wouldn't it be really nice of PP to add SkyTeam lounge in SYD to the network? In LHR they do.

It's really silly when we used to have lots before in Australia. Usually the Virgins lounges were all accessible.
Very disappointed. The Lounge in Berlin was a shambles, the LAX was quite good and agree above with Heathrow being good.

Used the one in Changi T2. It's the first one I've ever used so nothing to compare it with. I find the selection of food, limited. The lounge is spacious and quiet. Seats are comfortable. Shower is great, with nice fluffy towels. I can go there again.

All VA lounges are accessible with Amex platinum charge card provided you're flying VA. Guest allowed.

Closer to home, PP has added 2 new lounges which they announced by email:

Christchurch (CHC) - airside

Queenstown (ZQN) - landside

I used to use the Virgin Lounge in T2 in Sydney but apparently PP has cut this out. Used a very nice lounge at Barajas (MAD) while in transit last year between MXP and LHR. They are a bit hit and miss.

I have it and have found it useful sometimes. If flying LCC or something like that in Asia or Europe, for instance. But real flights with status of course a waste of time. Sometimes I've found myself lounge-hopping just for the sake of using it. There is a nice one in Helsinki, think it is a Skyteam lounge. If you don't have status but fly a fair bit, as someone else mentioned, it is probably worth getting if you want to spend the money.

My PP membership comes free courtesy of the rewards CC that I have.
